OVERALL
FORMAT

Email newsletters and articles to [email protected]

Newsletters and articles are due on the 5th of the following
month, or the 6th if the 5th falls on a legal holiday or a
Sunday


You may attach a .zip file if there are at least 5 files
If newsletters are too large to be sent over email they may
be sent as an Issuu link
Do not share documents through Google drive
Do not abbreviate your school name (example: NGHS) in
emails
Email fun fact and/or joke/riddle relating to the Tex-O-Key
theme, + 5 if published in the Tex-O-Key
Email Subject Line: School Division Month Assignment (no
month for photos or Letter to the Editor)
o example: Awesome D55 May Newsletter

o example: Awesome D55 Photos

CLUB ARTICLES
You may submit 1 newsletter max per month to be graded
by the District Editor
20 points max per newsletter
Criteria
o quality content
o follows graphic standards
o includes volume, issue, school, and division on cover
o table of contents & page numbers
o upcoming deadlines and events
o DCON advertising (after theme is announced)
o Major Emphasis and Key Club International Service
Partners advertisement
o Club officer / LTG / District Staff/ Regional Advisor
contact info
o attached as a PDF file or sent as an Issuu link
o follows format guidelines




10 articles max per month that will be graded by the
District Editor
2 points max per article
o 0 points = did not follow Format guidelines
o 1 point = follows criteria // average
o 2 points = follows criteria // above average
+5 points if one or more articles are published in the TexO-Key
Criteria
o quality content
o 400+ words
o written about a suggested prompt or anything
Key Club related
o attached to an email as a Microsoft Word
document
o author, division, school, and article title at the top
o at least 1 photo per article posted in Word
document
o all monthly articles need to be attached to 1
email in separate word documents
o follows Format guidelines
PHOTOS




Any Key Club related photos
+1 point per photo published in the Tex-O-Key
Follows Format guidelines
Attach to an email and include
o division, school, and photographers name(s)
o short description of activity(ies) in photo(s)
o names of people in photos with 4 or less people


Questions, comments, concerns, suggestions, etc. for
District Editor
