Paris, May 8, 2017 PARROT DISCO-PRO AG THE DRONE-BASED END-TO-END SOLUTION FOR MAPPING AND ANALYZING AGRICULTURAL CROPS Agriculture was one of the first professional sectors to adopt drones and digital tools to help streamline day-to-day operations, increase sustainable agriculture, and enhance crop yields. Parrot has served the agriculture market since 2012 with dedicated drones, sensors, software and services. Now, Parrot extends its agricultural portfolio with an end-to-end, multipurpose solution: Parrot Disco-Pro AG. The Parrot Disco-Pro AG is based on the Parrot Disco flying wing which has been customized for professional use. The package includes the Parrot Sequoia multispectral imagery solution, the Parrot Skycontroller 2 long range remote control, the Pix4Dcapture flight plan app and access to AIRINOV FIRST + online mapping platform. This complete offer includes one drone, one high-precision sensor, a flight planning app and a solution for computing and analyzing collected data. Parrot provides farmers and small farmers’ cooperatives with access to precision agriculture with a flexible, reliable, affordable and easy to use solution to help them in their decision making. Parrot Disco-Pro: reliable, easy to use and high performance The Parrot Disco-Pro AG is a customized version of the Parrot Disco, a delta wing shape equipped with a powerful on-board computer. The Parrot Disco-Pro AG is designed to accommodate the Parrot Sequoia solution thanks to a reinforced fuselage. The autopilot feature has been optimized for compatibility with the Pix4Dcapture flight planning app, available on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Pix4Dcapture, the flight planning app for autonomous and optimum mapping experience. Pix4Dcapture is the world’s first planning app that supports a fixed wing drone, and enables farmers and agronomist to define flight missions to map crops with ease. To create the flight plan, the farmer selects the plot to map directly on the Pix4Dcapture free app. The Disco-Pro AG’s powerful autopilot manages the entire flight, from take-off to landing, following the specified flight path. The drone is launched by throwing it into the air like a Frisbee which activates autopilot and ascends to the ideal altitude. Once stabilized at 120m, the Parrot Disco-Pro can fly over and map up to 200 acres autonomously in only 30 minutes1 . Powerful, reliable and lightweight (940 gr. including Parrot Sequoia), Parrot Disco-Pro completes safe and autonomous flights2. The stability of the wing is managed by the onboard computer which continuously adapts flight settings to prevent the drone from stalling. During the mapping procedure, users will benefit from the live streaming footage, captured by the Parrot Disco-Pro AG’s frontal camera and displayed via the Pix4Dcapture app screen on a smartphone or tablet. 1 Manual observation flights As a multipurpose wing, the Parrot Disco-Pro can also be piloted manually using Parrot Skycontroller 2 Wi-Fi remote control providing a 2km range. Even in manual flight, the Parrot Disco-Pro automatically adjusts flight settings to avoid stalling and provide a simple flying Base data – Altitude is defined by the user 2 Please check local regulation – Depending on the use, a certified pilot might be needed. experience. While flying over crops, a farmer can capture video footage of the farm with the embedded FULL HD 14MP front camera. The aerial footage can be used to observe the general state of the farm or to check something specific from the sky. Parrot Sequoia, a miniaturized multispectral solution made for drones Parrot Sequoia is a complete and accurate multispectral imagery solution for drones that captures images of crops (14.3cm/pixel resolution) in both visible and invisible spectrums. Hidden under the wing: A multispectral sensor with GPS that automatically records images of crops in four distinct spectral bands: green (500nm Bandwidth 40nm), red (660nm Bandwidth 40nm), red-Edge (735nm Bandwidth 10nm) and near Infrared (790nm Bandwidth 40nm). A sensor equipped with a RGB camera (16 MP) A 64GB internal memory to store captured images Above the wing, next to the battery: A separate luminosity sensor (‘sunshine’ sensor) that records lighting conditions and automatically calibrates collected data with the multispectral sensor data during the computer processing phase. AIRINOV FIRST +, the mapping and analyzing platform for multispectral images Images taken by the Parrot Sequoia are uploaded via computer to the AIRINOV FIRST + online platform for processing and analysis. In a few hours, the farmer receive a turnkey AIRINOV report composed of orthomosaic maps (absolute and adjusted) and zoning (simple and detailed) that provide at a glance, precise view of the biomass (density of vegetation) and relative health of the crops, helping professionals determine which areas need specific attention. Professionals can use these insights to inform corrective actions and track the effects and evolution of the farm with high precision. Who is the Parrot Disco-Pro AG target? Parrot Disco-Pro AG is a multi-purpose tool to help agriculture and horticulture professionals make informed decisions. Developed for small to medium sized farms and small agricultural cooperatives, Parrot Disco-Pro AG is also ideal for forest-workers, golf course operators, municipal parks managers and others. *** Parrot Disco-Pro AG pack is available June 2017 at agricultural equipment specialists’ and www.parrot.com MSRP: £4 000 (plus VAT) Parrot Disco-Pro AG pack content: 1 Parrot Disco-Pro 1 Parrot Skycontroller 2 1 Parrot Sequoia 3 Lithium Polymer batteries 1 year license to AIRINOV FIRST + 1 backpack *** @Parrot Watch the video here For more info, please visit www.Parrot.com or contact: 2 Kaizo PR for Parrot Alex McDonald – Zoe Taylor [email protected] Tel. +44 (0)20 3176 4700 About Parrot Drones Parrot Drones is a subsidiary of Parrot, founded in 1994 by Henri Seydoux.
