As the leader responsible for delivering innovative software solutions you will oversee in-house software systems that support nearly 7,000 users and Web-based
applications that provide state-of-the-art transactional capabilities for 680,000 customers.
POSITION PROFILE
As the Business Solutions Manager at VRS you will:







Lead all software development and delivery activities, including functional analysis and design, software design, development, testing, and database administration
Oversee a complex portfolio of technology software solutions and software delivery projects, including comprehensive customer-facing capabilities
Develop strategic initiatives to ensure technology enables
continuous business improvement and success
Execute tactical software delivery plans that ensure timely
implementation of secure software solutions
Direct multiple work teams in an Agile environment
Collaborate daily with agency executive management to ensure software solutions enable business strategic priorities
Have a passion for timely delivery of secure software solutions with a commitment to excellence and adherence to a
rigorous project management discipline

leader with demonstrated ability to set strategic direction,
plan the work, and lead teams to deliver.
CANDIDATE EXPERTISE
Our next Business Solutions Manager will have prior
experience in the following areas:






Developing and delivering complex, customer-facing
software solutions in an Agile work environment
Leading teams of technology professionals to deliver
and maintain innovative software solutions on time
and right the first time
Ensuring new software solutions adhere to strict security standards
Setting and executing strategic technology direction
for teams that build and maintain complex software
solutions in-house
Leading software development support functions such
as database administration and testing
Executing projects and initiatives using project
management principles and approaches.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information
Auditing, Information Assurance, Security and Risk Analysis, Computer Science or a
closely related field.
Candidates should also have at least ten years of experience in building and effectively
managing customer relationships, managing complex software development projects to
successful completion, and developing technology professionals. Candidates should also
have experience in software quality assurance design, secure design and development
principles, and setting both the strategic and tactical direction for a technology organization. Experience in an Agile delivery environment is preferred, as is project management
certification or experience.
