The position of the 2017 Team Bond University Games Captains will be awarded to two students. The main role of
the University Team Captain is to provide peer guidance, support and leadership to the athletes of the Bond
university games team. Team captains will represent Bond at official AUS functions such as the Games Opening
Ceremony and VIP functions, and will assist Bond Sport as needed. The Bond University Team Captains will report to
Bond Sport. Team Captains will receive full subsidy for Northern & Australian University Games. If you are interested,

University Games Captains
Position Outline
The position of the 2017 Team Bond University Games Captains will be awarded to two students.
The main role of the University Team Captain is to provide peer guidance, support and leadership to the athletes of
the Bond university games team. Team captains will represent Bond at official AUS functions such as the Games
Opening Ceremony and VIP functions, and will assist Bond Sport as needed. The Bond University Team Captains will
report to Bond Sport.
Volunteer Role
The role of University Team Captain is voluntary; however University Team Captains will receive the following
benefits
•
AUS registration paid for the Northern University Games and Australian University Games for 2017
•
Opening Ceremony ticket and have an involvement in Opening Ceremonies
Roles and Responsibilities
Pre Games
Assist university team managers with general duties such as:
•
Promote University Games events around campus
•
Disseminating information to sport specific team managers
•
Circulate regular information and updates to all team members
•
Attend all scheduled Team Captain meetings
•
Assist at Team Bond Pre Games meetings/bag packing
•
Act as a liaison between Bond athletes, Team Managers and the UTM
During Games
Assist university team managers with general team management duties such as:
•
Represent Bond at all official AUS events
•
Set a positive example for behavioural standards and adhere to the AUS/university code of behaviour.
•
Lead by example on the field as well as off the field. Team Captains will be expected to take an active role
in ensuring team members do not breach the Code of Conduct whilst enjoying the social program
•
Actively participate in Team Dinner formalities
•
Ensure all of the Bond team is in correct Bullsharks uniforms for functions, ceremonies and matches.
•
Notify relevant university staff on any incident that may reflect poorly on any team member, sport or the
university
Post Games
•
•
Assist with stocktaking of sport specific inventory
Provide event feedback and suggestions
