Grade 1 Even Steven Odd Todd

Student will be able to add and write number equations within 20.
Materials: Even Steven/Odd Todd worksheet, pencil, one set of
dominoes for two players

The game can be modeled by the teacher to the whole class, but should be played with only two players.
Procedure:

Turn the set of dominoes face down on a table.

Player one (Even Steven) picks a domino, orally states the equation, explains whether it is odd or even,
if it’s even he keeps the domino and writes the equation on his side of the worksheet on the first space
provided.

If the equation is odd, he passes it to Player two (Odd Todd) to put on his side of the worksheet.

Then Player two has a turn and follows the same procedure.

The first player to fill his side of the worksheet wins.
Assessment:
Teacher will collect student worksheets to assess addition fact fluency.
