Dear KEY PARTNER

February 16, 2006
The Honourable Shirley Bond
Minister of Education
PO Box 9045, Stn Prov Govt
Victoria, BC V8W 9E2
Dear Minister Bond,
The BC School Trustees Association is pleased to announce that, with the addition of the
Abbotsford School Board to our membership, we now represent all of BC’s 60 school boards.
This is a milestone for the Association. Since you are one of our key partners in the education
community, I wanted to share this news with you personally.
BCSTA is a voluntary, non-profit organization. We earn and maintain our membership by
providing useful services and, most importantly, by advocating for our members in ways that are
inclusive, respectful, thorough and effective.
One hundred per cent membership means that we have one hundred per cent of school boards
supporting the priorities school boards have developed collectively through BCSTA. First and
foremost, these are:
 Put students – and student achievement – first.
 Continue to re-invest in local public education.
 Support locally elected school boards to build the education teams needed to get us there.
Citizens choose to become school trustees because they want to make a positive contribution to
their communities, to public education and to the students in local schools. Through BCSTA,
these dedicated citizens come together at the provincial level to learn, to share and to find ways to
make public schools better for all students in all BC communities.
The voice of education partners is important to school boards province-wide as they consider
local issues and make decisions for the future of public education. BCSTA, your provincial
partner representing all of BC’s school boards, looks forward to continuing our work together for
students.
Sincerely,
Penny Tees

 Put students – and student achievement – first.
 Continue to re-invest in local public education.
 Support locally elected school boards to build the education teams needed to get us there.
Citizens choose to become school trustees because they want to make a positive contribution to
their communities, to public education and to the students in local schools. Through BCSTA,
these dedicated citizens come together at the provincial level to learn, to share and to find ways to
make public schools better for all students in all BC communities.
The voice of education partners is important to school boards nation-wide as they consider local
issues and make decisions for the future of public education. BCSTA, your provincial partner
representing all of BC’s school boards, looks forward to continuing our work together for
students.
Sincerely,

Executive Director, Ontario Public School Boards Association
18th floor, 439 University Avenue
Toronto, ON M5G 1Y8
Dear Ms. Anderson,
The BC School Trustees Association is pleased to announce that, with the addition of the
Abbotsford School Board to our membership, we now represent all of BC’s 60 school boards.
This is a milestone for the Association. Since you are one of our key partners in Canada’s
education community, I wanted to share this news with you personally.
