The meeting started at 10:15 AM. The Principal welcomed all the members to the BoG meeting.
Principal briefed the BoG on the Accreditation Visit by NBA and also about the silver Jubilee inaugural function. BoG Chairman
enquired about the feedback of the Accreditation team and principal appraised the BoG about the same. Principal briefed about the
programmes to be organized as part of Silver Jubilee Celebrations and requested the support of BOG.
Chairman in his introductory remarks pointed out that Academic committee should be more vigilant and scrutinize the proposals
carefully before sending it to the Chairman for approval.
Recommendation should be made by the subcommittees giving valid
justification so that knowledgeable decisions can be taken. He also pointed out that any new communication from NPIU/SPFU should be
informed to the BoG members. Chairman expressed happiness over the events in connection with Silver Jubilee celebrations organized in
the college for the current year.
BoG congratulated Prof. Leena Mary for getting the best researcher award from APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.

B2.1. Expert Lecture
Regarding conduct of expert Lecturers organized by III Cell BoG recommended that a maximum of 6 expert lecturers are to be conducted
in a department per semester. Feedback has to be collected from the students so that effectiveness of the expert lecture can be evaluated.
The department III cell coordinators may ensure that the selection of experts are to be made so that the sessions give motivation to the

BoG enquired about the impact of remedial classes. HOD’s presented the details of Remedial Classes.
BoG recommended that there should be a minimum of 10 Students for the remedial classes and the pedagogy should be different from that
of a regular class. Get a report on how the classes are being conducted.

BOG informed to seek clarification from SPFU regarding the proposal B11.2. Accordingly, a clarification from SPFU is obtained
and is given below.
Clarification by SPFU: As per project implementation plan expenditure for organizing Technology Exhibition cannot be met under the
head IOC, but travel costs can be met from IOC to attend Technology Exhibitions within India. However, to enhance research interest of
UG & PG students, purchase of consumables is permissible under the head Enhancement of Research and Development
and Institutional Consultancy Activities by which exhibits (models in exhibition) can be fabricated.

D1.Any other item with the permission of the Chair
1. Prof. Kavitha N (Assoc.Prof) & Prof Nisha KK(Asst,Prof),of CSE department have reported for STTP on Cloud Computing scheduled to be
conducted during 16-20 Nov 2015 at NITTTR Chennai and the course was cancelled due to flood. Each of them has incurred travelling
expense of Rs.5551/-. BoG may accord sanction for refunding the amount from TEQIP.
Permitted to refund the amount as a special case by BoG.
2. Revision of M.Tech Assistanceship
During the SSC meeting held on 17th November 2015, it was decided to enhance MTech Scholarship to Rs.8000/BoG may accord sanction for enhancing the amount for Non Gate M.Tech students in RIT.
M.Tech Scholarhsip for Non Gate students was enhanced to Rs. 8000/- as per the SSC decision from December 2015 onwards.
BoG remarked that agenda should be more explanatory.
3. Date of next BoG meeting.
Next BoG meeting is scheduled to be conducted on 28/03/15. (Monday)
BoG wished all the best to Mr.M Sherif , Additional Secretary, Higher Education Dept. who is retiring from Govt. Service this March
and thanked him for his guidance and contribution for the TEQIP project.
Meeting came to close at 2:00 PM with vote of thanks by Dr. R. Sasikumar, TEQIP Coordinator.
