It is most conveniently incorporated after preservatives have been added to the formulation. Various aesthetic properties can be achieved with VITIPURETM depending on addition order: • • • Water phase – aqueous & light touch Oil phase – caring feel At the end – rich and substantive feel The addition of VITIPURE™ could lead to moderately higher viscosities. It is best to incorporate the product below 50˚C, although temperatures of 80˚C are tolerated for a brief period. VITIPURE™ is stable over a wide pH range. Recommended Use Levels • VITIPURE™ can be used in the range of 0.5 – 2.0%. • Studies conducted on the anti-aging and skin repair benefits of VITIPURE™ included 1.5% VITIPURETM Feeling in test formulations. • VITIPURE™ can be used in the range of 0.5 – 1.0% for a sensory effect. Compatibility • There are no known incompatibilities for VITIPURE™ in cosmetic products. • For Deco-Cosmetics the use of VITIPURE™ Sensation is recommended due to its smaller particle size. Solubility • VITIPURE™ is easily dispersible in water, oil and hydroalcoholic solutions. VITIPURE™ is an excellent water-binding biopolymer, capable of retaining 10 times its own weight in water. It forms an efficient, nonocclusive barrier that limits water loss through evaporation. A higher electrical capacitance value indicates greater water retention capacity of the stratum corneum.
