A unique solution for complete skin repair
VitipureTM
Formulating with
VITIPURETM
VITIPURE™ can be formulated into O/W
and W/O emulsions as well as aqueous
gels. It is most conveniently incorporated
after preservatives have been added to
the formulation. Various aesthetic
properties can be achieved with
VITIPURETM depending on addition order:
•
•
•
Water phase – aqueous & light touch
Oil phase – caring feel
At the end – rich and substantive feel
The addition of VITIPURE™ could lead to
moderately higher viscosities. It is best to
incorporate the product below 50˚C,
although temperatures of 80˚C are
tolerated for a brief period. VITIPURE™ is
stable over a wide pH range.
Recommended
Use Levels
• VITIPURE™ can be used in the range of 0.5 – 2.0%.
• Studies conducted on the anti-aging and skin repair benefits of
VITIPURE™ included 1.5% VITIPURETM Feeling in test formulations.
• VITIPURE™ can be used in the range of 0.5 – 1.0% for a sensory effect.
Compatibility
• There are no known incompatibilities for VITIPURE™ in cosmetic
products.
• For Deco-Cosmetics the use of VITIPURE™ Sensation is recommended
due to its smaller particle size.
Solubility
• VITIPURE™ is easily dispersible in water, oil and hydroalcoholic
solutions.

Anti-Aging Benefits
Multi-dimensional wrinkle reduction
Panelists using cream with 1.5% VITIPURETM Feeling had a significant reduction in the number and depth of skin
microreliefs, as determined using image analysis. The total wrinkled surface area was reduced by 24% after only 8
weeks. 90% of panelists observed a positive effect in the 16 week study.

Skin Repair Benefits
Improved skin hydration with prolonged use
Skin hydration significantly increased for panelists using a cream with 1.5% VITIPURE™ Feeling throughout the 16 week
study. Short-term and long-term hydration benefits were observed in comparison to the control cream.
VITIPURE™ is an excellent water-binding
biopolymer, capable of retaining 10 times its
own weight in water. It forms an efficient, nonocclusive barrier that limits water loss through
evaporation. A higher electrical capacitance
value indicates greater water retention
capacity of the stratum corneum.
