Spotter Guide

CAN ANYONE SLOW DOWN GRAHAM?: Coming off a doubleheader sweep at Detroit, Graham Rahal has launched
himself into championship title contention. He returns to Texas Motor Speedway, where he scored a thrilling win over
James Hinchcliffe last August. Can Rahal keep up his dominant form to win his third race in a row?

WHAT TO WATCH FOR THIS WEEKEND:
• IRONMAN “TK” HOPING TO CELEBRATE AGAIN: Texas Motor Speedway holds special memories for Tony Kanaan, who has
eight podium finishes in 17 previous starts at TMS. Kanaan won at Texas in June 2004 as part of his Verizon IndyCar Series
championship season and celebrated the title after finishing second in the fall race. Can the popular Brazilian add to his
memories at the track?
• POWER LOOKS TO WIN AT “HOME” TRACK: Though he is originally from Toowoomba, Australia, Will Power, who claimed his
first oval win at Texas in 2011, considers Texas Motor Speedway a home race of sorts because his wife Elizabeth is from nearby
Plano. Can Power, who has won three of the last four poles at TMS, claim another win at his “home” track?
• CLOSE RACING A HALLMARK AT TEXAS: In the 28 previous races at Texas, 17 have finished with a margin of victory of less
than one second, and nine races have been decided by less than one-tenth of a second, including Graham Rahal’s win in 2016.
Will the Rainguard Water Sealers 600 live up to the history and produce another classic finish at Texas?

Texas Motor Speedway is home to “Big Hoss”––the world’s largest TV. If you
were to put the Firestone Firehawk Racing tires side-by-side, it would take all of
the tires brought to this year’s race PLUS all of the tires from the past five years
to cover the entire screen.
