Background:
Walk so Kids Can Talk presented by BMO is the single largest day of action where communities across
Canada walk in support of Kids Help Phone. Last May, the 16th annual Walk attracted more than 11,000
participants in 60 communities, raising more than $3.5 million!

March 1st to May 31st, 2017
Walk:
May 7th, 2017 - Walk so Kids Can Talk presented by BMO takes place in communities across Canada
Strategy:
This year, the target is $3.7 million! We would like to call on our walkers and their social media networks
to create awareness, build excitement, raise funds and recruit volunteers for Kids Help Phone and the
Walk so Kids Can Talk presented by BMO.
Kids Help Phone has created a Social Media Campaign Tool Kit with a 5-Step Challenge to help you
accomplish these goals. The tool kit includes sample social media posts that participants can post on
their networks to let their audience learn about the Walk, their fundraising goals and volunteer
opportunities.
How it Works
1) Follow Kids Help Phone on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
2) Accept our 5-Step Challenge by following each step and posting on your social media accounts.
3) Like/retweet/repost social media posts from Kids Help Phone.

Tell your audience why you are supporting Kids Help Phone.
Ask for donations to meet your personal fundraising goal.
Challenge your friends and family to get involved as a walker, donor or volunteer.

Kids Help Phone!
