fee is waived allowing all youth bowlers meeting the requirements of this rule to participate in this tournament
and subjects them to all USBC tournament rules.
2. PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS: All team members must be enrolled in the same high school. All team
captains must report to the tournament office at least one hour before their scheduled shift.
3. BOWLING OPPORTUNITIES: A bowler may compete only once in the team event of this tournament.

5. SUBSTITUTES: Substitutes who meet entrant eligibility stated in Rule 1 must report to Tournament
management prior to a scheduled shift.
6. ENTERING AVERAGE – CONDITIONS THAT APPLY: Entrants will use their highest current average or certified
USBC average, minimum of 9 games as of February 1, 2008. If the bowler has no average, a male bowler will be
assigned an average of 170 and a female bowler will be assigned an average of 150 for handicap purposes.
However, the tournament director reserves the right to adjust any assigned average at any time. Each entrant is
responsible for the correctness of his or her average, whether originally submitted by the bowler, the team
captain or others. If the submitted average is higher than actual, a team score will be based on the submitted
average. If the submitted average is lower than actual and results in a lower classification or more handicap, the
bowler’s score is disqualified in the handicap division. Average corrections can be made up to the end of the first
game of a series, or within 48 hours after completion of the series if the tournament manager, prior to the
completion of the first game of a series, has given written consent to the bowler authorizing such extension of
time to correct their average.
7. HANDICAP PERCENTAGE USED: The handicap for the handicap portion of the tournament will be based on a
scratch of 840 pins in the team event with ninety (90%) percent of the difference between that figure and the
average of the entrant(s) being the handicap.
8. PRIZES: Trophies will be awarded in each division to the handicap winners and the first place actual winner.
Scholarships will be awarded based on actual scores only.
9. TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Each team will bowl three games on one pair of lanes. The State High School
Champion will be determined based on actual scores only. Trophies only will be awarded to the winners based
on handicap scores. Each team will consist of four individuals, either all boys, all girls, or mixed.
10. SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarships will be awarded at a ratio of at least one for each 10 teams entered. The
number of team entries will determine the amount of scholarships. The West Virginia Bowl Council will donate
$500.00 to the scholarship fund. All scholarship money will be returned 100% to the bowlers. The funds will be
held in a separate account managed by the USBC SMART National Scholarship Program (#2182) and will be
disbursed upon written proof of college enrollment by any winner directly to the college institution. Funds not
claimed will be returned to the general fund of the West Virginia Bowl Council after three years has elapsed from
the projected high school graduation date of any winner.

or check for the total amount of the entry fee. There is a $25.00 charge for all returned checks in addition to any
bank charges. Entries must be postmarked by midnight February 9, 2008. The tournament director reserves the
right to change the schedule. All decisions of the tournament management are final unless an appeal is made in
accordance with USBC rule. This tournament is sponsored and conducted by the West Virginia Bowl Council.
