Reward System AMS 2011


Students will earn
“Colt Cash” for
meeting our school
wide expectations
and spend their
earnings on a
variety of fun
activities and
privileges.
Reward activities include RACE
days every other Friday when
student may use their Colt Cash
to get out of class for 24
minutes to gather with their
friends in our courtyard. The
RACE activity offers music,
conversation, and friendly
competition between grade
levels in games like limbo,
Frisbee golf, beach ball bounce,
or team scavenger hunts to
establish bragging rights as the
winner of the Class Domination
Challenge.
Other random rewards include
impromptu bid wars that allow classes
to pool their money to bid on fresh
cookies or donuts for the class.
Themes days such as jersey, crazy hat,
and silly socks are also provided for
student to use their Colt Cash to buy
the right to wear these items.
We also provide whole school
activities designed to
celebrate school wide
positive behavior support.
The special days, Fall Festival
and FCAT Field Day, allow
students and teachers to
celebrate success together.
A carnival atmosphere is the
goal of the Fall Festival, there
are craft tables, carnival
games, face painting, video
games, and large inflatable
games for students to enjoy.
The Fall Festival provides
students a chance to enjoy
their teachers, their friends,
and fun games and activities
while spending their Colt
Cash.
In the spring, the FCAT Field Day is
another opportunity for students to
spend their Colt Cash on sports and
games and a Student v. Faculty
basketball game.
Character assemblies
focus the students on our
school wide expectations
and foster a safe, caring,
and respectful
environment at our school.
Assemblies occur monthly
on issues such as bullying,
goal setting, motivation,
and making transitions
during adolescence.
Special guests such as
Chris Holyfield, Tommy
Nugent, and Omega Man,
and come to our school to
bring entertainment to the
important messages of
motivation, self-control,
and tolerance.
