1.
Background
Description of the situation at the outset to enable the assessors to familiarize themselves with the subject
matter of the project.
2.
Technical competence of project management
The competence elements inserted below form part of the compulsory section of the summary project report
and must always be described. Remember that you need to describe a minimum of 14 PM technical
competence elements in your project report. The order in which you do so is up to you.
Describe the information you regard as relevant to each compulsory element and how the topic is addressed in
your project. Back up your statements with examples from your project documentation. Also ensure that your
personal contributions are visible.
Describe the competence elements in terms of the “Situation – Action – Result” behaviour triangle. The main
focus of the content should be on the action as the top priority and on the result as the outcome of your
reflections as the second priority. The description of the situation serves to facilitate an understanding of the
position at the outset.
