JUNE NEWSLETTER
Lord our God, the earth is full of new growth and beautiful flowers.
We thank you for springtime and the beauty all around us.
We thank you for the flowers, the trees with their new buds and the grass that is getting greener every day. How
blessed are we to live on your precious earth!
Thank you God, for this gift of springtime.
We pray in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
It is hard to believe that the end of the school year is just around the corner! It has been a busy year at Sacred Heart and
continues to be busy for the last month of school. Please see the June calendar on the back of this newsletter for all of the
exciting activities planned!
**NEW** INTRODUCING OUR NEW STUDENT ATTENDANCE PROGRAM!
One of greatest priorities is ensuring that all our students arrive safely to school every day. This fall we will add
a new system that will make it easier for you to report-and respond to-school absences of your child.
We have sent home the School Messenger: Safe Arrival forms, but still have many unreturned. Please take the
time to fill out this form and return to the school ASAP. Please see the form attached to this newsletter.
Thank you
Mr. D. Pace
YEAR-END EXCURSIONS
Many of our classes will be going on year-end field trips in June. Please ensure that your child is dressed for warm or
rainy weather and that all permission forms and payment is sent to the school or paid using School Cash Online (Via the
school website) on time. If you plan to volunteer for trips, you will need to have an updated police check (either
background check or declaration form).
JUNE CLEAN UP
We ask that your child begin to take home personal items from their coat hook or desk that are no longer needed. Our
custodians will have a much less difficult time cleaning the school over the summer when desks and coat areas are clean.
Any lost and found items remaining at the school by June 29th will be donated.
Thank you for your support and cooperation with this!

SCHOOL CASH ONLINE
Using School Cash Online is a very convenient way to make
payments for hot lunch days and field trips. With online
payments you will no longer have to look for exact change
for each child’s payment. For safety and efficiency reasons,
we want to reduce the amount of cash and cheques coming
into Sacred Heart School. Thank you to the many parents
who have already registered. We currently have 60% of our
parents using this payment tool. If you have not registered,
we are asking that you please take 5 minutes to register, by
following the steps below.
It’s easy to register: Go to
https://bhncdsb.schoolcashonline.com and register by
selecting the “Get Started Now”.
After you receive the confirmation email, please select the
‘click here’ option, sign in and add each of your children to
your household account.

New Requirement for
School Volunteers
We appreciate all volunteers who work to
enhance our schools and Catholic community. In
compliance with safety regulations and legislation,
we endeavour to ensure that our volunteers are
properly screened and trained so that their
experience in our schools is not only enriching,
but safe.
The most recent requirement for volunteers in our
schools is the completion of online Accessibility
for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) training
as well as the Police Check.
If you are a volunteer, please ensure that you
have completed the online training module and
have provided the completion certificate to your
school before your first scheduled volunteer day.
Please visit our website, go to School Info and
then Volunteer. You can also see the attached
sheet for instructions.
