Lots of new bits of tarmac are appearing around the area. We will tootle around the Tyneside area discovering where these are, then finish for a cuppa/beer at Mr. Woods in Tynemouth. Great North Bike ride – we are putting 3 buses and trailers on for transport up to Seahouses, still a few places left if you want to book you and your bike on. £15 Aug per head. Cobalt. About 35-40 miles. Wed 6th Cobalt 20th Blyth City circular. Riding into Newcastle city centre in and 0900 around the back lanes, then back to Cobalt for a drink. Ride out from Blyth up the route 1, then cutting inland over nice quiet back roads and lanes to finish for a cuppa at Powburn. Bus back at 2pm back to Blyth. Around 40+ miles. Starting at Blyth beach at Midnight, we will be riding an exciting Aug urban circular over 50+ miles, taking in a coastal sunrise Wed Killingworth 1700 Heading towards the river, then crossing Tyne at Newburn 27th with a final cheeky climb up the Owl track for a beer at Aug Ryton Village, with bus back at 8pm. We have been invited for a quiet night at the 30th Low Lights Tavern in North Shields for a chin wag over Aug the Tour de France event. and finishing for breakfast around 7am. We may be able to do rides with these types of bike by request, just call us. Cost is normally £15 per head, (£10 for August unless otherwise stated), which includes pick up from the designated point, transport by minibus from there and return, this includes a place on the trailer for your bike. Payment can be made on the day of the ride. A minimum of 8 riders are required to make each ride viable, if less than 8 we maintain the right to cancel and you will be offered a place on another ride. If you want any particular type/length of ride, or maybe wish to take in a certain event or location, then let us know and we can design something to suit you. These are leisure rides to be enjoyed; we want you to be able to appreciate some of the fabulous parts of the North East that you probably wouldn’t see from a car window. Fun, fresh air and gentle exercise! Each ride will have experienced guides to help you along, and in all cases there will be shortcuts should anyone find they are really struggling. We suggest bringing a water bottle, and some snacks to keep your energy levels up, and we always try and end where we can get drinks/snacks. Wearing of cycle helmets is advisory. All cyclists ride at their own risk, the Highway Code should be adhered to at all times.
