Installing A PCI 1750 Hardware I/O Card Installing the PCI1750 is a little tricky which is why we have put together this quick reference guide. Basically you need to physically install the card first of all. When your PC boots up, Windows will automatically attempt to install the drivers. Cancel this process as Windows will not be able to do it. In order to install the PCI 1750 correctly on Windows XP you will need to have the Advantech Device Manager installer and the PCI1750 Driver installer which are available from the P Squared web site (http://support.psquared.net/products/drivers_utilities/default.htm) or possible from the disk supplied (but you should check the disk has the correct driver versions by visiting the link above). TIP: An up to date list of recommended drivers for use with P Squared products can be found at: http://support.psquared.net/products/drivers_utilities/default.htm First run the Advantech Device Manager installer, following the on screen instruction which will walk you through the Device Manager installation process. Once finished, run the PCI1750 Driver installer, again following on screen instructions. Once you have installed both of these items, you are ready to actually install the card. To do this, click on the Start button and then right click on My Computer and select Manage from the list of options. This will open the Computer Management window. Click on the Device option and you should see an ‘Unknown PCI Device’ listed, this should be the PCI1750. Right click on this item and select Update Driver from the right click menu. When prompted, select the ‘Install The Software Automatically’ option and then click on Next. Windows should now install the correct PCI1750 drives that we installed at the beginning of the installation process. Windows should now install the drivers as normal. After the driver install finishes, you should see the PCI1750 listed in the Device Manager under an Advantech section. You should now be able to run Start > Programs > Advantech Automation > Device Manager > Advantech Device Manager to see that the card is installed and recognised.
