Juniors Intermediate Miss Alejandra Gómez Vilchis. Bimonthly Project: Novel Objective The main objective of the Bimonthly Project is the acquisition of numerous English Language Skills. Mainly: Reading Comprehension, Writing, Speaking and Use of Language. By reading “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” of Lewis Carroll, students will be capable of practicing those English Skills and also getting used of Classic English Literature, in order to develop a cultural background of the language. Description Students must read chapters: 1, 3, 5, 7 and 8 of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by Lewis Caroll. The text will be available on a PDF format at the download zone in Copán website, under the name “Alice in Wonderland”. The project is divided in two parts: A and B. Part A: After reading the fragment, students will answer a Reading Comprehension Graded Exercise of the four chapters of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. This part of the project is 50% of the total grade. Date: Tuesday, May 24th, 2016. Part B: Students will write in teams a summary of one of the chapters of the novel, previously decided and given by the teacher, but in a dialogue structure, like a play. The dialogue must be minimum two pages long and maximum three pages long. Also, students will make a small play of the dialogue, using the chapter they were assigned. The play cover the next points: Each member of the team must choose a character to play. The dialogue must be memorized; students won’t be able to read. All the member of the teams must wear costumes, according to their characters and chapters. Each team must bring a scenography with props and material according to the setting of the chapter. The play must be minimum 5 minutes long and maximum 10 minutes long. This part of the project is 50% of the total grade. Students will present their summary on the following day: Date: Wednesday, May 25th, 2016. Note: In order to be graded, students must deliver both parts of the project: B1 and B2. Part B1: The summary must be written in a Word document with the next format: 1. Minimum two pages long, maximum three pages long. 2. School’s name 3. Subject 4. Complete names of all the members of the team at the beginning of the first page. 5. Grade 6. Complete teacher’s name. 7. Date 8. Name of the chapter. 9. Font: Times New Roman. 10. Font Size: 12 pts. 11. Line Spacing: 1.5 12. Indented on every paragraph, except the first one. 13. Without space between paragraphs. Note: In order to get full credit you must follow the format. Also students may consult the last page of this document, where they can find a sampler to get a clear idea of the written part. Part B2: Students will be also grade with a Speaking Presentation of their chapter, using the play to explain it. Students must take in consideration the following points: 14. Each member of the team must have a complete knowledge of the chapter and answer all the comprehension questions the teacher and other students may ask, after the play. 15. Each member of the team must explain a part of his or her chapter, so everyone on the teams gets a grade in the Speaking Presentation. 16.
