A Financial Aid Presentation will be held on Wednesday, January 27th at 6 pm in the cafeteria. A representative from Joliet Junior College will be here to give the presentation. Gardner Lions Club - $500 scholarship awarded to TWO graduating seniors enrolled in a 2 year, 4 year college, trade or vocational studies program. Deadline is February 5, 2016. For application and more information see Guidance. Delta Kappa Gamma - $1000 scholarship awarded to a female senior pursuing a degree in education. For more information, see the guidance office. Application/essay deadline is February 1, 2016. (Cindy Christensen) Exelon is offering a $1000.00 scholarship to a deserving senior who is planning on entering into a career of science or technology. This is one of our local scholarships and there will be one winner from our school. Any seniors planning to become a school nurse, school psychologist, instructional media specialist, or social worker, there is a scholarship opportunity. Please see guidance office for more information. Students if you are interested in taking the ASVAB test at GSW, please sign up in the guidance office. Students planning to join the military will need to take this test sometime before they enlist. It is also a great way for any student unsure about his/her future career path to explore areas that may be a good fit for his/her skill set. We need to gauge the number of students interested before the test can be set up. Please sign up ASAP if you are interested. Seniors - If you plan to enter the workforce after high school and would like help with your letter of application and resume stop by the guidance office to pick up a packet. If you have volunteered your time to improve our community and would like to be recognized with the Prudential Spirit of the Community Award you can complete an application to be considered for this award. Students, if you are interested in being involved with a county wide youth philanthropy group stop by the guidance office for more information. This is a great opportunity to get involved!
