PRESS RELEASE ST. JOHANN, FEBRUARY 2012 SUCCESSFUL FIRST YEAR FOR AWARD-WINNING EGGER TRUCK EGGER road show inspires customers across Europe. Ideal medium for connecting with customers wins several awards With around 10,000 visitors after covering a distance of 30,000 kilometres, the success of the EGGER Truck one year after its launch is impressive. While the focus of the road show was on Eastern Europe in the first year, with side trips to the Interzum trade fair in Cologne and the EGGER 50-year anniversary celebrations in St. Johann in Tirol, the EGGER Truck tour continues in Western and Southern Europe in 2012. The EGGER Truck was also recently recognised with the iF communication design award and the RedDot Design Award. CUSTOMER PROXIMITY EXPERIENCE ACROSS EUROPE EGGER documents the realisation of customer proximity with the EGGER Truck. In keeping with the EGGER philosophy to be present wherever the customer is, the EGGER Truck impressed customers directly on site during its tour through Eastern Europe – both as an exhibition stand and as an information centre. “With the EGGER Truck, we are offering our customers a new form of partner marketing. We are pleased it is being used so intensively,” explains Hubert Höglauer, Head of Marketing EGGER Group. BRINGING TOGETHER THE VIRTUAL AND THE REAL WORLD The jury for the RedDot Awards in Essen and the iF forum in Hanover were also impressed by this extraordinary concept. They recognised the product presentation in the smallest possible space with the material library, as well as the environmental cycle. In concrete terms, the material library of the EGGER Truck received the RedDot Design Award 2011 in the POS category and the iF communication design award 2012 in the category “Corporate Architecture - Installations in public spaces”. “This contribution distinguishes itself by its explorative and playful navigation. With the help of a kind of mixed reality installation the user is able to vividly experience the brand. It is a wonderful tool,” says the jury. The environmental cycle in the EGGER Truck also earned the iF communication design award 2012. The material library is part of the virtual EGGER House installed in the truck. Here customers have the opportunity to navigate through various rooms by operating an interactive glass table. Information on all of the installed EGGER products is available along the way and the composition of structural and furniture details can be examined. This makes the material library especially well suited for communicating product knowledge in training courses. 01 PRESS RELEASE ST. JOHANN, FEBRUARY 2012 The environmental cycle shows animated and live-action video sequences from sustainable forestry to the production of wood-based materials to the use of waste wood, which cannot be used for materials, in biomass power plants. It therefore traces the path of the raw material wood through the EGGER production cycle, supplemented by a wide variety of information. Both concepts are interactive, combining virtual and real-life components and presenting comprehensive information in the smallest possible space. “We are very pleased that we can communicate the full diversity of the EGGER furniture and interior design, wood construction and flooring worlds thanks to highly modern communication technology,” says Ulrich Bühler, Head of Sales/Marketing EGGER Group. “We feel the awards confirm the success of our efforts.” EGGER TRUCK – TOUR INFORMATION 2012 February March May June July August / September October France Spain and Italy UK and Ireland Spain and Portugal Italy Austria and Switzerland UK and Ireland Hubert Höglauer (Marketing Manager EGGER Group), Ulrich Bühler (Head of Sales/Marketing EGGER Group), Dominique (Marketing Projects Necker EGGER Group), Patrick Boltz (Playframe) and Thomas Kienzl (Kommerz) (f.l.t.r.) received the iF communication design award 2012 in the category “Corporate Architecture – Installations in public spaces” on February 10th 2012. 02 PRESS RELEASE ST.
