Assistant Coach Role Advert
Dinnington RUFC are looking for a committed individual to assist with the coaching of our growing girls’ rugby
section. The Club is part of the South Yorkshire Local Rugby Partnership, which is an RFU initiative that has
been set up to Develop Girls Rugby in South Yorkshire.
Dinnington RUFC are committed to creating a fun environment for girls to play rugby and to support the RFU
objective of increasing participation in rugby.
Dinnington RUFC are passionate about developing girls rugby at the club. We would love to find someone who
shares this passion for the sport and who is keen to develop their skills with the club. We are a friendly and
approachable group of volunteers and you will find our environment supportive and fun.
We will provide and pay for RFU training and development and also provide all equipment and facilities
required to make this a massive success. We believe that engaging with an aspirational coach at this early
stage of their and the teams development will ensure the long term success of girls rugby at Dinnington.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILIES
 To provide structured coaching to girls ranging from Under 13 through to Under 18 in the principles of
rugby union
 To support the development of the Individual Girls and The Team as a whole
 To support recruitment & retention of Girls to the club
 To plan and deliver training sessions on a weekly basis as directed by the lead coach
 To Ensure the main emphasis of training and games is Fun & Enjoyment
 To deliver coaching in a safe environment
 To form part of a team of coaches
 To ensure that all activities are i n line with the RFU Regulations
 To model the RFU Core Values and an Ambassador for Rugby
 To attend games as well as training

Knowledgeable about the Game in general and Girls Rugby in particular
Confident and a strong/appropriate communicator
Committed to Fair Play and the RFU Core Values
Well Organised and a Good Timekeeper
Approachable and Good with People
Strong Team Player
Has a Player Centred approach to Coaching and a focus on Developing Individual & Team Skills
Level 1 Coach or willing to attain the Qualification (training will be provided and funded)
TIME COMMITMENT
4-8 Hours per week including planning & organisational time, depending on the time of season and the
game/festival activities
