Position Purpose:
Provide support to build organisation capability and a positive workplace culture.
This involves creating, developing and delivering innovative organisational
capability initiatives to improve organisational performance and drive employee
engagement.

Leadership Development and Performance

Position holder is successful when

Scope and develop learning solutions to
meet specific learning needs for people
leaders and employees and to support
organisational initiatives.
Develop new leader induction integrated
with digital learning strategy.
Develop and implement mentoring
programs for leaders.
Support the review of performance
management framework and tools
including online.




Program design incorporates Mission Australia
values, behaviours and learner job
expectations.
New leader program is delivered that meets
business requirements.
Mentoring is used effectively to develop core
leadership capability.
Ensure a blended learning approach supports
70-20-10 principles utilising technology
supported learning where appropriate.
Contribute to improvements across
performance framework, policies & processes.

Develop learning and career maps to
support role based career development in
line with organisational capability needs
and sector changes.
Contribute to the development of
organisational capability initiatives in
response to changing needs, including
initiatives related to: leadership
development, career mapping,
performance management.
Provide specialist advice to Program areas
relating to staff engagement and learning
& career opportunities.


Employees know how to navigate key learning
and opportunities to support their current role
as well as future role.
Information about learning opportunities is
easy to understand, accessible and aligned to
organisational capabilities.
Take a long-term perspective to enable
organisational capabilities and resources to

Lead projects including developing and
implementing initiatives.
Use change management and
communication in People Development
plans.
Maintain and evaluate development
programs to ensure relevancy.
Develop and maintain guides, tools and
templates to support development for
both employees and managers.

Plans are aligned to business needs and the
MA strategy, HR and business calendar.
Ensure a project management approach is
taken for all key initiatives and are delivered on
time and within budget.
A pragmatic, user centric approach is applied
to the delivery of all development initiatives.
Programs are delivered with positive feedback
from participants and key stakeholders.
Intranet, Learning Management System and
People Leader Portal resources are regularly
updated.
Employees and people leaders embrace new
people development initiatives.

Relationship Management

Maintain constructive working
relationships with key groups across the

Recruitment information
Qualification, knowledge, skills and experience required to do the role
 Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering initiatives to support leadership development,
feedback tools, career development, performance management, and talent management.
 Demonstrated consulting and relationship management experience at operational leadership levels.
 Significant experience in developing and facilitating leadership workshops and forums.
 Ability to support cultural change programs for new business opportunities.
 Demonstrated expertise in the development of role based learning models or capability
frameworks.
 Understanding of adult learning methodologies for both groups and individuals.
 Relevant tertiary qualification in Organisational Development/Learning, Human Resources,
Psychology or Coaching.

 Highly developed written, oral communication and interpersonal skills, including advisory,
negotiation, influencing and problem solving skills with an emphasis on key stakeholder
management.
 Project management and change management skills.
 Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with
key stakeholders, staff and people leaders.
Key challenges of the role
 Facilitating the implementation of programs through a national team of HR Business Partners and
other key people leaders with varying stakeholder requirements.
 Some travel may be required to support implementation of initiatives.
