MITCH EVANS DRIVER PANASONIC JAGUAR RACING _______________________ Mitch began karting in 2001 and thus entered the world of motorsport at just six years old. Between 2001 and 2007, he won 13 karting titles often when racing against older and more experienced opposition. His successes included victory in the Junior class at the CIK Trophy of New Zealand and the Rotax Max Series; both in 2007. In winning the RMS, Mitch qualified for the World Rotax Finals in 2007 (Dubai UAE) and in doing so became the youngest ever competitor at the age of 13. He finished the race in a respectable position of 13thout of 72 karters. In 2011 Mitch once again competed in the Toyota World Series for Giles Motorsport and won the International Trophy for the second season running. Mitch blew away his opposition winning all four rounds, claiming six victories and finishing on the podium in every race. In February, he fulfilled his first goal for 2011 by winning his first New Zealand Grand Prix and in doing so became the youngest ever driver to win the event. After the Toyota Racing Series success Mitch departed New Zealand for his first season in Europe to compete for MW Arden in the GP3 Series. 2012 saw Mitch sign with MW Arden for another season in GP3 Series, and there was only one goal - to win the championship. The championship started off to plan with winning the first race in Barcelona. Throughout the championship Mitch conceded points and put himself in the lead going into the last round in Italy, which is now renowned to be one of the exciting ends to a championship in history. Mitch took out the championship after a breathtaking finale, a stellar drive off the back of the grid proved why he is champion. Along the way, Mitch took 3 victories, 6 podiums and 4 pole positions. A sensational effort in only his second season in Europe. In 2013 Mitch progressed into the GP2 Series after taking out the 2012 GP3 Series with MW Arden. Evans signed with Arden International for the 2013 season with the goal of making a solid impression in his rookie season. Mitch made history by becoming the youngest ever GP2 driver to reach the podium during his first ever weekend in GP2 in Malaysia race 2. 2014 saw Mitch stay in the GP2 Series but changing teams from Arden International to Russian Time with hopes of a better season. Mitch went on to win two feature races in Great Britain and Germany, with a total of 6 podiums to put him 4th overall for the 2014 season. A huge effort and a year Mitch is proud of considering a lot of hurdles during the season. 2015 saw Mitch stay with Russian Time in the GP2 Series to take on the championship. He also competed at the historic Le Mans 24 hour race in LMP2 with Jota Sport with an incredible 2nd place in his first attempt at Le Mans. Another really exciting year! PANASONIC JAGUAR RACING
