Motivational Tips for the Generations
• Judge performance by outcomes, not work done in a different way
• Consider technology preferences
• Consider which generations are comfortable with work/life balance,
work/life blending, and leaving work at work
• Remember, all of the generations bring different strengths
• Not all performance issues with younger workers are generational;
it may be lack of experience or training
♦
Remember basic differences such as the “youth” component or
“stage of life”
• Different doesn’t mean “wrong”

They are already the largest %,
but by the year 2025…
the Millennial generation and younger
workers (Gen Z?) will comprise…
75%!
?
of the total U.S. workforce.
Will you be ready?!?
Hint: They’re waiting to be coached…
