See Supported Video Formats N/A N/A Overview of Activities Return to Top Academy In this self-assessment activity, learners are asked to answer questions correctly over multiple plays in order to fill up the topic progress gauges at the end of each ten question session. An “open book” style of learning is supported by providing an in-game Knowledge Navigator tool that supports users when they need help finding an answer. Academy is designed to assess the learner’s mastery of the content, and dynamically adjust the delivery of assessment items to focus on areas where remediation is needed. 10% This adaptive approach to learning provides a more efficient way for learners to generate their own mental and memory links to the material, and keeps learners engaged by eliminating the distraction of continually being assessed on what they already know. This activity also provides real-time learner feedback, which shows correct answers when a wrong answer is selected. Through this personalized learning experience, users have the opportunity to learn at their own pace while mastering topics as they go along. 50% 30% Adaptive Learning Multiple Choice Openbook Instructional Feedback Overview of Activities Return to Top Assessment This activity breaks away from traditional learning games by offering a variety of highly interactive and customized question types for assessment purposes, including: true/false, multiple choice, multiple correct, large image with multiple choice and large image with hotspot area. Assessment encourages learners to apply active and analytic thinking to a task opposed to them answering or guessing thoughtlessly. It also provides content-rich feedback that supports learners so that they can do better as they progress. This serious game is sure to engage your learners’ visual and kinesthetic sensibilities as they aim for high scores and proficiency of the content. The incentive to True/False Multiple Choice earn badges, real-time feedback and placement on the leaderboard will only motivate learners more to achieve mastery of any given topic. Additionally, learning designers will appreciate the ability to create a custom assessment activity using configurable options such as number and order of questions, answer feedback (show/hide), use of question countdown timer (on/off ) and a custom background (image or color). Multiple Correct Customizable Timed Overview of Activities Return to Top Block Party Blowing stuff up has become a main staple in the gaming world. Block Party satisfies that need by combining a learning game with a more traditional game experience. This animated learning activity, available in standard 2D or with colorful 3D graphics, gives users the option to answer a multiple choice question after they’ve strategically broken up a set of grouped, like-colored blocks (containing at least one question block) filled with confetti. Knowledge retention abounds as learners do their Multiple Choice best to clear the board! The incentive to earn badges, real-time feedback and placement on the leaderboard motivates learners to achieve mastery of any given topic while upbeat music and fun game mechanics help to engage learners in the process. Learners will be thoroughly engaged, they won’t even realize they’re building their product, process and/or system knowledge during gameplay. Leaderboard Proprietary: Not for disclosure outside mLevel without prior written permission. Overview of Activities Return to Top Check Point This interactive learning game gives users an opportunity to build and anchor knowledge as they attempt to progress from one location to the next within the realm of this exciting activity. Check Point dynamically promotes an individual’s ability to recall information by providing three rounds of multi-choice question and answer type assessments that include a limited number of hints available to the learner. Due to the time constraints in each level, fact memorization is inevitable as the learner strives to answer each Multiple Choice Customizable question appropriately before the timer runs out. The incentive to earn badges, real-time feedback and placement on the leaderboard motivates learners to achieve mastery of any given topic. The learning developer can create entertaining storylines via customized text areas and imagery, along with upbeat music to engage learners in the process. In addition, learning designers can augment levels by applying their own imagery to match the theme of the game to increase immersion. Leaderboard Increasing Complexity Timed Overview of Activities Return to Top Coordinates This complex learning game enables learners to cognitively process knowledge while they identify details of a specified topic in order to find the GPS coordinates of a secret location. For example, it can challenge users to understand multiple aspects of a product/solution as they can only progress by selecting the correct answers. Since Coordinates supports questions with multiple correct answers over the course of six rounds, this activity requires learners to analyze and apply the appropriate characteristics to their responses. The level of this activity’s Multiple Correct Customizable difficulty increases as the quantity of available answer options is reduced within each round of play. Leaderboard Increasing Complexity Overview of Activities Return to Top Custom Task With this educational tool, learning designers have the ability to provide instructions for a real life task not housed within the mLevel mission. This allows users to apply their new found knowledge and skills to work related responsibilities. Custom Task makes it simple to tie a mission to assignments that must be completed elsewhere such as tests, events or certifications. To earn points for these types of assignments, the learner simply needs to indicate that this task has been completed (after fulfilling the requirement of course) via the Yes/No checkbox found within the Custom Task activity module. Educational Tool Overview of Activities Return to Top External Link As its name suggests, this educational tool allows users to check out additional learning content by clicking on relevant links that take users out of the mLevel app. This tool is ideal for learning designers who want to conduct post-training surveys or provide access to detailed product specifications. External Link makes collecting learner evaluations easy by linking this activity out to a web survey URL. Since learners can earn points for completing this task, it gives them even more of an incentive to provide their feedback. Other useful adoptions include providing links to a reference page, website, and/or contest rules. Educational Tool Overview of Activities Return to Top Fast Lane In this fast-paced activity, learner’s quickly imprint critical information to memory as they make an effort to drive to three different destinations without being slowed to a stop by hazards. Correctly answering true/false or multiple-choice questions (by selecting one answer from two different options) helps the learner avoid dangerous road conditions and increases their driving speed to complete the three level game. In order to succeed, a learner must match or exceed a specific percentage of correct answers to not fail out of the game before reaching the finish line. The incentive to earn badges, real-time feedback and placement on True/False Multiple Choice the leaderboard motivates learners to achieve mastery of any given topic. The learning developer can create entertaining storylines via customized text areas and imagery, along with upbeat music to engage learners in the process. In addition, learning designers can augment levels by applying their own imagery to match the theme of the game to increase immersion. By design, Fast Lane allows users to comprehend information and recall it in the ‘moment of need’ like never before! Leaderboard Customizable Overview of Activities Return to Top Ice Breaker This learning game delivers critical knowledge in a cool way by asking users to answer questions correctly before the ice blocks stack up too high. In the meantime, users will begin to remember and understand the facts in question as they get acquainted with the content. During each interval of gameplay, users are asked to select one correct response out of the two different options provided that include either true/false or answers to a multi-choice question. If the learner answers five questions in a row successfully, the crushers remove a block, allowing extra time for the learner True/False Multiple Choice to answer the remaining questions. Ice Breaker ends when five blocks are stacked or after the user answers 30 questions. The incentive to earn badges, real-time feedback and placement on the leaderboard motivates learners to achieve mastery of any given topic while upbeat music and fun game mechanics help to engage learners in the process. Leaderboard Timed Overview of Activities Return to Top Knowledge Navigator Learners typically begin a mission by reviewing the Knowledge Navigator, which obtains all the essential information points for each topic and compiles personalized study lists based on user preferences. These digital flashcards can be used for pregame prep, as reference during game play, or for easy real world reference. Individuals utilize this innovative educational tool to remember content and understand it, too. Customization options are also available for learning designers interested in adding imagery to support their data. Educational Tool Overview of Activities Return to Top Learning Lab Learning Lab provides an experimental environment for learners to cognitively process knowledge as they attempt to blend the correct mixture of answers for more advanced types of questions. Practice will make perfect as learners do their best to avoid getting penalized for submitting incorrect answers or flushing their solution when they realize their combination of answers isn’t quite right. Since this game allows for contextual feedback at the time of error, individuals are constantly learning as they test their solutions. Similar to Coordinates, this Multiple Correct activity supports questions with multiple correct answers over the course of six rounds, therefore it requires learners to analyze and apply the appropriate characteristics to their responses. The incentive to earn badges, real-time feedback and placement on the leaderboard motivates learners to achieve mastery of any given topic while upbeat music and fun game mechanics help to engage learners in the process. Leaderboard Instructional Feedback Overview of Activities Return to Top Path Finder The most effective mental context for a learner to embed knowledge is nearly always their job or role in the organization. For this reason, Path Finder immerses the learner in realistic and adaptive scenarios they are likely to encounter on the job. By navigating through a series of simulated events and choosing the best possible course of action at each decision point, users strengthen their ability to solve problems. Not to mention, this activity provides the ongoing reinforcement learners need to feel confident applying their new skills on the job. 10% This is made possible by utilizing Path Finder’s branching capabilities to create a feedback loop that allows learners to fail in a safe environment while giving them a second chance to get back on the right path. Learning designers can craft an immersive and completely customized story by using specialized panels to add text, images, video and a quiz at the end of each scene. In result, this gives learning designers the flexibility to create very simple or highly complex simulations as they see fit. 50% 30% Multiple Choice Customizable Adaptive Learning Branching Workflow Instructional Feedback Video Overview of Activities Return to Top Quiz Ball Pinball fans can’t help but to love this engaging learning game with a classic twist that urges them to aim and shoot balls at glistening knowledge gems while earning huge bonus points along the way. By hitting knowledge gems and correctly answering multi-choice questions, the strength of the user’s knowledge is tested until either the learner clears all of the knowledge gems to complete each level or runs out of balls to shoot. Learners will have fun as they identify and recall Leaderboard information, a practice that ultimately leads to optimal knowledge retention. The incentive to earn badges, real-time feedback and placement on the leaderboard motivates learners to achieve mastery of any given topic while upbeat music and fun game mechanics help to engage learners in the process. Multiple Choice Overview of Activities Return to Top Shape Escape Learners will be mesmerized by the futuristic realm of this game as they navigate around the explosive sphere, avoid enemy shapes, and collect small glistening dots that guide the player to attract a question. The user essentially plays to earn the right to correctly answer questions about the learning program content. Answering a multiple choice question correctly rewards the user with multipliers that increase point awards as he or she masters the content. This action also clears the board of enemy shapes, which can decrease a player’s point multiplier if they get Multiple Choice caught by various shapes. The game ends when the clock runs out of time. Due to the game’s time constraints, Shape Escape not only supports the user’s ability to build and anchor knowledge; but it also reinforces critic behaviors such as speed, diligence and habitual reactions. The incentive to earn badges, real-time feedback and placement on the leaderboard motivates learners to achieve mastery of any given topic while upbeat music and fun game mechanics help to engage learners in the process. Leaderboard Timed Overview of Activities Return to Top Short Fuze ShortFuze is an excellent activity for those individuals who need to think on their feet in a fast-paced work environment. This learning game provides a race against time as users test their knowledge by answering 20 multiple choice questions before the ignited fuse runs out. As users progress, their ability to recall information is challenged to an even greater extent when the number of answer choices increases from three to six as they play. In addition to learning the content, critical behaviors such as diligence and speed are reinforced when Multiple Choice Leaderboard inaccuracy is penalized through score penalties and time deductions. The incentive to earn badges, real-time feedback and placement on the leaderboard motivates learners to achieve mastery of any given topic while upbeat music and fun game mechanics help to engage learners in the process. Timed Increasing Complexity Overview of Activities Return to Top Video Visual learners will find great value in this educational tool that gives participants the ability to access content or expert advice via videos or other recorded sessions embedded into training (or on-demand). Video is a powerful learning tool in guiding the learner to create their own mental context to embed their knowledge. Generally, the principle downside of video is its lack of tracking information. This problem can be solved, however, by pairing an mLevel video activity with a learning game to assess the learner’s comprehension of the video content. Video mLevel accepts all video formats supported by the Microsoft Azure Smooth Streaming platform (including MP4, MPEG, M2V, AVI and more). While any video time length can be used, we suggest keeping videos under 2 minutes in length to retain user engagement. Videos are streamed from the web (not downloaded) to the device they are viewed on, and will scale differently depending on the viewer’s screen size. 720p format is recommended for the best experience across devices.
