You will need: yellow card, white paper, scissors, glue, googly
eyes, black tissue paper, greaseproof or waxed paper, red
crayons or pens. A hole punch is useful.
First create the head and body: on some yellow card draw a round body and a
smaller round head, and cut these out.
Draw 2 wing shapes on the greaseproof paper and cut them out.
You can use the template on page 2 as a guide.
Make holes in the body big enough for your fingers to fit
through, either using a hole punch or very carefully with
your scissors.
Scrunch up small pieces of the black tissue paper and glue them on to
the body to make stripes.
Glue the head to the front of the body
Glue the wings to the back of the body.
Cut a thin strip of white paper about twice as long as the head. Bend it in the middle
to make a V shape. Stick the bottom of the V to the back of the head and curl the
ends to make antennae.
Add googly eyes and draw a mouth.
