Math Game: Close to 20
GOAL:
Make sums as close to 20 as possible.
PLAYERS:
Game is played by two or more children.
RULES:
1. Shuffle a deck of cards with the numbers 0-9.
2. Deal five cards to each player. Place the remaining cards
face down on the table.
3. Each player chooses 3 of his/her 5 cards to make a sum as
close to 20 as possible (*but not more than 20).
4. A player’s score for the round is the DIFFERENCE between
his/her combination and 20. On the recording sheet below,
each player writes his/her combination, the total of the
combination, and the score for the round (20- total)
5. At the end of the round, each player discards the cards used
to make this first combination and receives three new cards.
6. Play continues for 5 rounds.

Turn Over Ten
Materials: one deck of cards - aces to nines
take out the jack, queen and king
Objective: To make pairs that equal 10
The ace will stand for a one in this game.
1. Shuffle the cards.
2. Lay out cards, four rows, five in each row, face down.
3. Place the other cards in a draw pile, face down off to the side.
4. Players take turns flipping over two cards. A player can make a match if
the two cards make ten when added together.
5. If a match has been made, the player gets to keep those cards.
6. Replace the cards with the cards from the draw pile.
7. Keep on playing until all matches have been made.
8. The player with the most cards in the end wins.
“Get to 100” Game
This is a game for two players.
Players take turns choosing any whole number from 1 to 10. They keep
a running sum of all the chosen numbers. The first player to make
this total reach exactly 100 wins.
