Responsibilitiesand
Duties
Regulartraveltofixtures,meetingsandeventsinconnection
withperformanceofthedutiesoftherole.
TheroleistoassistinthedevelopmentoftheAcademy
coachesatOldhamAthleticFCviaasustainablesystemand
approachtocoachdevelopment.Itisarolethatisworkingwith
coaches,ratherthanworkingwithplayersandtheapplicant
shouldrecognisethisdistinction.Thesuccessfulapplicantwill
alsoneedtocommittoaprogramofself-developmentthatwill
includeattendanceontheEHOC(EliteHeadofCoaching)
coursewhichisrunbythePremierLeagueandEFL.

•TomanagethedevelopmentofallAcademycoaches
•ToensurethattheAcademy’scoachingprogrammeis
deliveredconsistentlythroughoutthedevelopmentphases
inlinewiththeplayingandcoachingphilosophyofthe
Academy
•Toprovidecoachingsupportwhenrequiredinthe
Professional,YouthandFoundationDevelopmentPhases
•Tocompleteandkeepuptodatetherelevantandrequired
administrationincludingthePMA

•TodeliveracomprehensiveCoachingDevelopmentPlanfor
allcoachesincludingaclearandupto-dateTrainingNeeds
Analysis(TNA)ofeverycoach’scurrentandrequiredlevelof
performance
•EnsureeverycoachhasapersonalisedDevelopmentAction
Plan(DAP)thatfulfilstheirindividualneeds
•Ensurethatallcoachingstaffholdandareup-to-datein
regardstotheirqualificationsandCPDrelevanttotheirrole
intheAcademy
•Whenrequiredtooffercoachingsupportwithinthethree
AcademyDevelopmentPhases
•TomanageandmaintaintheCoachCompetency
Framework(CCF)
•Toundertakeself-developmenttoensurethatknowledgein
regardstocoachingandcoachdevelopmentiskeptup-to-
dateincludingqualificationsandCPD
•Beflexibleandbepreparedtoworkeveningsandweekends
•ToattendallrelevantAcademyandclubmeetings
IncludingAcademyManagementTeammeetings
•ToattendrelevantexternalmeetingsincludingEFL,LFE,
PremierLeagueandFAmeetings
•Monitorthecoachessessionplans,evaluations,game
planningandfeedbackandmakesurethattheyareupto
therequiredstandardonthePMA.
•EnsurethatAcademycoachesareworkingeffectivelyas
partoftheMulti-DisciplinaryTeam(MDT)
Undertakeotherdutiesthatmaybeappropriatetoachievethe
objectivesoftheroleandtoassisttheAcademyManagerwhen
requiredtodoso.
