Morgan Chase Anthony Chan is a well-known economist featured regularly on CNBC and Bloomberg TV and in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and more. His responsibilities include economic analysis and research and he travels widely for client presentations on economics and investments. Chan earned a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland and is a member of several forecasting panels. Anthony Chan, Ph.D. Chief Economist, J.P. Morgan Chase The Global Economy Anthony Chan is chief economist for Chase and an expert on the global economy. He joined Chase in 1994 and his responsibilities now include economic analysis and research. He also travels globally and domestically to make client presentations on economics and investments. He is a member of several forecasting panels, including Blue Chip Monthly forecasting panel, the National Association for Business Economists quarterly macro panel and the Reuters, Bloomberg and Dow Jones Weekly Economic Indicator panels. He served on the Economic Advisory Committee of the American Banker’s Association. Chan received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland. He was a doctoral fellow at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and was also a professor of economics at the University of Dayton. He was an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a senior economist at Barclays de Zoete Wedd Government Securities. Chan has been quoted in many media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The New York Times, The Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, and Investor’s Daily.
