2015-2016 Code of Conduct
Our School Code of Conduct is consistent with the Provincial Code of Conduct guidelines.
It reflects a proactive and sustained approach toward student discipline:
School code is intended to teach our students:
 to develop self-discipline
 to develop the ability to co-operate with others
 to accept responsibility for the consequences of their actions
Pro-active strategies:
Central Spryfield Elementary is Restorative. It is important that we build relationships with
our students and create opportunities for our students to build relationships with one
another. It is important for our students to feel connected to our school.
We also know that Behaviour is learned; therefore, it can be influenced, taught, and learned.
We are committed to:
- Involving students in the development of classroom Codes of Conduct
- Practicing methods to resolve conflict in a peaceful and respectful manner
- Recognizing appropriate behaviours in the school and classes
- creating opportunities in class and outside of class for students to build relationships
Factors to consider when determining possible actions:
Inappropriate behaviour will never be ignored; appropriate action will always be taken.
- Reflect the frequency, severity and intensity of the inappropriate behaviour
- Make sense to the students, as much as possible.
- Consistency and fairness should be evident to the student and to his/her parents or guardians.
