Pre-K Graduation
Closed for
Memorial Day!
Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 14th this year! Please join us on
Thursday, May 11th as we honor our special Moms who help make
the days brighter, the boo-boos hurt less, our books more fun, and
the dark nights less scary. You wear many hats, Moms, so let us
pamper you as we serve you tea and treats! Your personal
invitation has been placed in your child’s cubby in his/her
classroom.
Our Mother’s Day Tea schedule has been spread out so that
mothers of multiples have the opportunity to attend the different
tea times and so that ample parking will be available. Please see
your child’s classroom schedule below:
Infants: 2:00 – 3:00
Toddlers/2s: 3:00 – 4:00
Preschool 3s/ PreK 4s: 4:00-5:00
PreK 5s: 1:30-2:30
We hope to see you there Moms! Please RSVP to your Directors by
May 4th to ensure we have enough treats for all! Happy Mother’s
Day!

We hope you can join us for our annual graduation ceremony followed by a brief reception. The
ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 so please make sure you arrive 10-15 minutes early to secure
parking and seating so the ceremony can begin on time. Please RSVP to your center director with how
many family members will be in attendance so that we can provide enough refreshments for the
reception.
We look forward to honoring the following Pre-K graduates who have worked so hard on this year’s
program. Congratulations, graduates! We know you will be very successful at Kindergarten next year!

Let’s get reading! Go to
Scholastic.com, find “The
Reading Club” under the
parent link, create an

Here are your school codes

The Play School requires a two week notice
to withdraw should you be making other

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
THE PLAY SCHOOL 2017
CLOSURES
The Play Schools will announce and hold
annual school-wide teacher conferences
in June. These dates will be announced
soon. In addition, please know that we
conduct this on request at any time of
the year as well. At The Play School we
strive to create a comfortable and
approachable environment where you
can contact your teachers or your
director at any time should you have
questions, concerns, praises or
feedback. We view all of our families
and staff as an extension of our family
so please let us know how we can help
you and make your experience at The
Play School meaningful.
Please mark your calendars
for the following 2017 Play
School closures:
Arbor Village: P4WBB
Saxony Village: L6Z9Y
Stoney Creek: DY6D4
Legacy: NZWYC
**Please make sure you are
only ordering under your
Director’s name and NOT a
teacher in the school.
Thanks in advance for your
orders as it helps our
schools’ libraries grow!
WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
Thank you for your
participation in the Week of
the Young Child! We loved
having so many parents in our
classrooms to read the
children’s favorite stories!
The WOYC is our schools’
founder/owner, Ms. Rita’s
favorite preschool week
because it is, “all about the
kids!” We hope you and your
child(ren) felt special and
enjoyed the various treats!
Only 52 more weeks until we
get to do it again!
VACATION CREDITS
Don’t forget your two week vacation
credits will renew in August. If you have
unused credits from the 2016/2017 school
year those will not roll over into the new
school year. All families will have two
credits on their account starting August 7th
for the 2017/2018 school year. There are
vacation request slips located in the front
office of each school; we do ask for a two
week notice for any vacation credits used.
Thank you!

TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY
Please join us in celebrating our beloved Play School faculty on Tuesday, May 2nd! We are very humbled to be
surrounded by such an amazing staff who go out of their way each and every day to bring joy and comfort to our
Play School children. If you have not already done so please take a moment to fill out an appreciation card for your
child(ren)’s teachers to say, Thank You for all of their hard work. We are looking forward to celebrating our
wonderful team!
"Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well."
-Voltaire
SCHOOL-AGER PARENTS
We have been working on our June field trip calendar and will have these dispersed to parents by mid-May.
Please be patient with us as we finalize reservations and firm up details. We know your summer camp child
is excited to learn about his or her trips so we promise to get this out to you ASAP!
Our deadline to register your child(ren) for our school-ager’s summer camp club was March 24th. We have
since opened any remaining spots that were not registered for to the public. Please contact your director
and provide a tentative last day for your child or see her immediately if you intend to stay on with us for
the summer, but have not yet notified us. Due to state licensing ratios, spots are limited and current Play
School families always take priority. We do have to limit our enrollment, however.
Our 4 Kidz Only Summer Camp keeps your school-ager busy, active, and safe! Our program is staffed with
veteran Play School teachers, most of which are degreed and licensed teachers. Field trips include
bowling, movie theater trips, Conner Prairie, Children’s Museum, Putt-putt golf, splash parks and
swimming, cooking units, the zoo, and more. Join us for all the summer fun at The Play School!
