time. Never make your most important
decisions when you are in your worst moods.
Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The
spring will come.” –Robert H. Schuller
READ ALL POSTED MEMOS
AATC would like to bring to your attention the multiple memos around the
building. Starting this month, we will be further implementing current
policies. Patients with prescriptions for benzodiazepines will be
required to bring their prescriptions to the clinic daily in order to participate
in random pill counts. Patients who receive take-homes will be required
to return all take home bottles to the clinic at their next clinic day. Any
patient that fails to return any amount of take-home bottles will be
immediately phased down. See your counselor with any questions.

PATIENT SUGGESTIONS/COMMENTS
Patient suggestion/comment: “Please put the entertainment and people magazines back out in the lobby? I really
enjoyed reading them while I waited! Thank you!”
Staff response: We recently got rid of all damaged magazines. Once we get some entertainment type of magazines back,
we will certain put them back out for your viewing pleasure!
Patient suggestion/comment: “I really hate walking through a cloud of smoke to come dose. I don’t think it’s fair that
those of us who don’t smoke have to walk through that just to get in the front door.”
Staff response: We have purchased new signage to further specify a “Smoking Area” and “Non-smoking Area.” Please be
sure to alert staff members if there are individuals smoking in non-smoking areas.
A LITTLE SPRING CLEANING
After you’ve cleaned out your house, take a look at your mental health. Get rid of all of those repetitive thoughts that
create feelings and negative behaviors. Spring is the perfect time to practice letting go of resentments, anxiety, guilt, anger,
depression, and more. Lighten your mental and emotional load with a few of the following tips:
1. Allow yourself to hold on to resentment without self-criticism until you are ready to let go. Forcing
yourself to forgive creates cognitive dissonance (thinking one way, feeling another) which can lead to self-sabotage.
Waiting until the time is right ensures forgiveness and paves the way for you to be more compassionate to yourself and
others.
2. Practice setting aside pre-conceived notions about yourself. “Whether you think you can, or you can’t – you’re
right” Take a look at your current belief system and ask yourself “is this belief getting me to where I want/need to be or is
this standing in my way?” Throw away any pre-conceived notions that won’t get you to your goals.
3. Shake up your day. If you normally eat the same thing for breakfast each morning, try something new. If you
normally shower, try taking a bath. Small changes have the power to shift your perspective on life.
4. Join a group. Join a meet-up group for an activity/hobby you like or go try an exercise group (most gyms allow a free
trial class!). Groups can be diverse, fun, and provide you with the opportunity to make new friends.
5. Adopt an attitude of gratitude. At some point every day, stop and count your blessings. Mindfulness can shift your
perspective almost instantly.
6. Replace Self-Judgement with Self-Love. The most important spring cleaning that you can do is sweep out the
inner critic of negative self-talk and replace it with thoughts of self-love. You will find yourself feeling more comfortable
and more at peace. (From Nicole Urdang, MS, NCC, DHM)
