The Chapel on the Hill
Once an old, rustic stone dairy, these ruins have been restored into a beautiful wood-and-stone chapel.
Situated on a hill the chapel looks onto the Game Reserve and is often surrounded by antelope,
zebra and wildebeest grazing the grassy plains. This provides spectacular views for guests to
admire before and after the service, as well as a stunning back drop for photos.
The chapel seats up to 230 guests comfortably on wooden pews, with a raised platform in the front
where the bride and groom stand for the service. The interior allows guests to absorb the natural
and rustic feel of the chapel and enjoy the natural beauty all around.
Photographs
The game reserve provides a wide variety of beautiful settings for bridal party photos to be taken after
the service. Rolling hills and landscapes provide a natural backdrop for photos, while old ruins
provide a unique picturesque setting for romantic photos to be taken of the bride and groom.
The cliffs of Oribi Gorge, and the suspension bridge and lookout points, provide breath taking
views of the gorge.
While photographs are being taken of the bridal party, the wedding quests are welcome to take a drive
around the game farm free of charge.

The Wedding Reception
The Oribi hall is situated, overlooking a small dam and a spectacular view of the game reserve.
Bamboo ceilings, wooden windows and doorways provide a natural, rustic look, while large
dimming chandeliers create a warm ambiance in the evenings. The hall is the perfect venue for a
day or night reception. This venue must really be seen to be appreciated.
The hall is equipped to seat 300 guests but we provide versatile draped curtains, which can be used to
reduce the size of the hall for any number of guests. Outside the hall, a wooden deck
overlooking the dam provides the perfect spot for guests to enjoy snacks and drinks, while the
bridal party has photographs.
Accommodation for Guests
Lake Eland Game Reserve can provide the following accommodation for your guests:
 Self catering chalets – which sleep 2 people, 5 or 6 people per chalet
 Family home –which sleeps 6 people and Park Home sleeps 8 people
 Double Rooms – which sleep 2 people per room
 Camping and Caravanning sites
Pricing / Venue Details
Our wedding package consists of an all inclusive rate of R400.00 per person for 2017(R360pp for 2016).
This price INCLUDES the following:
 The Menu - we have a suggested Buffet Menu selection which is included in the cost.
However, you may add to or change the menu as you wish and a price will be quoted for the
“extras”.
 Wedding Venue Hire & use of Chapel
 Fairy lights included
 Round tables & white tablecloths - seating 8 to 10 people per table
 Chairs & white chair covers
 Cutlery, crockery and glassware.
 Bar facilities - Fully Licensed
 Staffing such as Waiters & Barmen for service at the wedding
 Manager to co-ordinate Wedding Function

MINIMUM RATES 2017
Please note: that during 2017 Lake Eland Game Reserve has the following minimum rates:
a) During March, April, May & December the minimum is R32,000. Should your wedding have
more than 80 guests there will be a charge of R400 per each additional guest.
b) During the rest of the year the minimum is R22,000. Should your wedding have more than 55
guests there will be a charge of R400 per each additional guest.

BAR FACILITIES
Lake Eland Game Reserve is a fully licensed establishment offering a well stocked bar. Being
fully licensed there is a corkage charge for Wine and Champagne, but not spirits, beers etc are to
be purchased from the bar. The bar closes at midnight (24h00).
Additional Information
SET UP OF THE VENUE
Will take place the day before the wedding, on condition there is no other function booked on
that day.
DURATION OF THE WEDDING –
The wedding venue is booked from the start of your ceremony until midnight (24h00), which
means the bar will be closed and the music needs to end.
PARKING & GATE ENTRANCE Ample secure parking is available for the wedding guests at no charge. The client shall provide
Lake Eland Game Reserve with a guest list within 7 days of the wedding, in order for the
wedding guests to gain free access into the game reserve. Guests can alternatively present their
wedding invitations at the gate.
REMOVAL OF DECOR –
All décor not provided by Lake Eland Game Reserve must be removed by 11.00 am the following
day. However, if there is no function booked in the venue for the following day, the removal of
decor may be discussed with management.
Should you wish to book the venue, a separate wedding agreement will be emailed to you!
