CONVENTION HIGHLIGHTS
Beautiful palm tree-lined Pacific beaches, warm weather, stunning
waters, great fishing and diving, five star hotels and golf courses,
gourmet restaurants, shopping and evenings full of music and
dancing describe what is waiting for you in Cabo San Lucas,
Mexico. Add meetings that will provide you with insight into
the industry and ways to strive for a better workplace and higher
profits and you have the perfect setting for our 2008 WIA
Annual Convention.
top vacation areas in Mexico. More like an enclave of the US than
part of Mexico, this area offers something for everyone. Cabo
San Lucas has warm, tropical weather, with ocean temperatures
that range from the low 70’s to the high 80’s.
The bay of Cabo San Lucas, at the southernmost tip of Baja,
was once a base for pirate ships waiting to pounce on Spanish
treasure ships. Even fifteen years ago, it was little more than a
fishing and canning village occasionally visited by adventurous
sports fishermen with the means to sail in or fly down, however it
quickly earned a reputation for the marlin that could be caught off
shore, and the once-quiet place found itself becoming one of the
The area is the perfect location to enjoy a very special WIA 2008
Annual Convention. This convention will offer great VALUE for
members who will have the opportunity to stay at a five star hotel
with a significantly reduced rate and participate in an agenda
filled with motivational and industry speakers and networking
opportunities.
Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos Resort
Getting to
Cabo, Mexico
Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos Resort will be the host
hotel for the convention. Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos
is an exquisite oceanfront resort and the flagship of the Fiesta
Americana chain. It is located in an exclusive area in Los Cabos,
Baja California Sur, between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San
Lucas.
The hotel offers every element of elegance and detail, from
deluxe accommodations and superb service to recreation and fine
dining. The accommodations are of the highest caliber, with airconditioned rooms; all with ocean views and private balconies,
three swimming pools, a beach club, restaurant, and spa.
Los Cabos has become famous for its endless variety of activities.
You can enjoy all types of water sports, such as kayaking, sailing,
boogie boarding, water-skiing, snorkeling, diving, and parasailing.
Cabo San Lucas is an easy flight for most WIA members.
There are many airlines that offer flights into Cabo San Lucas,
Mexico. United, American, Mexicana, Alaskan Airways, and
Aero California all offer good flights. It only takes two hours
to get from Los Angeles to Cabo and even from the east coast
you can be there by midday. Check Web sites for the best fares
and book early.
For those flying into the area, a rental car is not really needed
but all major rental car companies have facilities at the airport.
Taxi and Airport Shuttle Services
Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos offers preferential access to
the 18–hole championship Ocean and Golf Course designed by
Jack Nicklaus.
With every room and suite offering an incredible view of the Sea
of Cortez, the sunsets are romantic and the atmosphere relaxing.
Taxis are readily available at the Cabo Airport. The ride, which
is approximately 20 miles, takes about 30 to 40 minutes. The
one way cost is approximately $60.00. We will have staff at the
airport to assist with getting from the airport to the hotel on the
major arrival day.

Keynote Speaker: Bob Ladouceur
Go inside the greatest winning streak in the
history of American football. For 12 years
and 151 games De La Salle High School in
Northern California never lost a football
game. Head Coach Bob Ladouceur and his
teams amassed the highest winning percentage
in the history of American football.
Crowned National Champions in 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, and
2003, no other program has been as consistently dominant at
any level. Ladouceur has been called one of the greatest coaches
in the history of sports, but in his own words he calls himself a
teacher. He says, “the greatest lessons are learned during times of
adversity and that every winning streak begins with a loss.”
The coach has compiled a stunning 306-19-3 record – against
top-flight competition – in 27 years for a scintillating .939 winning
percentage. He was enshrined in the coveted National High School
Hall of Fame in 2001 and has been named National Coach of the
Year several times. Making his feats even more remarkable is the
fact that De La Salle never had a winning record until he took over
in 1979.
Head Coach Bob Ladouceur will be our keynote speaker this
March in Cabo San Lucas. Hear his amazing story of how he built
a football program that now stands as the most successful program
in all of sports history. You will learn his secrets of building a
winning team that can work for you in your business.
You will be provided time for questions and answers after his
informative presentation.
A Day at the Office
This year as a special part of your registration you will receive a
wonderful snorkeling trip around the waters of Cabo San Lucas
followed by an exciting lunch at “The Office”.
The Office, located on the beach, is the place for lunch Cabostyle ... where you can enjoy classical informal elegance with your
feet firmly planted in the sand.
The 16-ounce Office Margaritas are almost as famous as its
traditional Mexican kitchen and fresh local fish and seafood. After
lunch you may decide to stay and enjoy the wave runners or
parasailing right on their beach.

WIA Annual Golf Tournament
Monday, March 17th at 12:00 noon
Monday, March 17th at 12:40 pm
Join us for a special WIA lunch and shopping in and around
Cabo San Lucas.
Our WIA golf tournament will be held at Cabo Del Sol Golf
Course on the Desert Course.
You will be transported from the Fiesta Americana to some of
the “hidden shopping” jewels of Cabo. We will include stops at
the glass factory, where you will see beautiful custom glass pieces
being made. From here you will have an opportunity to shop
at Artisano’s, a Cabo tradition. This is a wholesale warehouse
full of all products “Mexicano” at huge discounts. Our tour will
continue with lunch downtown by the harbor. After lunch you will
have free time to shop the markets and upscale mall in this area.
This exciting day will have you back at the hotel around 4:30 pm.
This masterful Tom Weiskopf design features mesmerizing ocean
views from all 18 holes, each artfully sculpted through incredible
natural surroundings. A unique combination of desert and ocean,
canyon-like arroyos and a variety of foliage creates a breathtaking
backdrop as well as a significant challenge. The course varies in
length from 4,810 to 7,100 with undulating greens, challenging
elevation changes and dramatic bunkering. The Desert Course is
rated #6 in all of México by Golf Digest placing it behind only
The Ocean Course among Los Cabos’ resort golf offerings.
Deep Sea Diving or Dolphin tour
Farewell Awards Evening
Monday, March 17th at 12:00 noon
Located where the Pacific merges with the Sea of Cortez, Cabo
has earned acclaim as the “Marlin Capital of the World.” The
nutrients kicked up by the merging oceans attract an abundance
of other species as well, including sailfish, swordfish, tuna,
Dorado, and more.
Our final night in Cabo San Lucas is sure to be one you will
remember for many years to come. We are planning a very
special event with entertainment, great food and beverages,
all outdoors under the Mexican moon and stars. The Fiesta
American is the beautiful sight for our final night’s events. This is
the time for us to honor our officers and industry leaders, while
experiencing Mexico, fiesta style!
Join fellow WIA members and see if you can catch the “big one”.
Also available is a chance to swim with the dolphins at the New
Dolphin Center.
We look forward to you joining us for all the special
opportunities provided while in Cabo San Lucas at the WIA
Annual Convention. There is something for everyone.

Passports
Most importantly, don’t forget that travel outside of the US now requires a passport for everyone,
including infants. With the new laws requiring passports there is a backlog in processing and
currently it is taking 12 to 16 weeks to get a passport through the US government passport office.
Now is the perfect time to get yours so you won’t have to rush closer to the time of the convention.
For details on obtaining a passport go to the government Web site http://travel.state.gov/passport
We look forward to seeing you in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico at this special WIA convention. Please contact

Looking forward to
seeing You in Mexico!
