Mid Island Dahlia Society
The Mid Island Dahlia Society is dedicated to friendly people who enjoy growing
Dahlias, and associating with other gardeners.
We keep each other informed about new varieties of Dahlias, and learn techniques for
Planting Dahlias, Maintaining Dahlias, Harvesting Tubers and storing them successfully.
We have two Exhibitions each year.
Volunteers from MIDS plant and maintain the Dahlia Gardens at Planting Fields Arboretum, the Eastern
Trial Gardens at Eisenhower Park, and the Eisenhower Park Display Gardens.
We share our knowledge, and our tubers, with our friends (new and old)
We have a Spring Luncheon, Summer Picnic, and a Winter Holiday Party. We meet on the first Monday of
the month from February through December. At 7pm on each meeting day, we offer a class for people
who are eager to learn the basics. The regular meeting begins at 8pm. Each month we offer a program of
interest to Dahlia aficionados

The Mid Island Dahlia Society meets the first Monday of the month at Winthrop Hall on Advent Street,
Westbury, NY. The time of the meetings is 8:00PM. Dahlias 101 Class starts at 7:00PM
