How is a player sit out documented?
•  A - It’s the referees job
•  B - By the dad of the kid who sat out calling the
director of competition saying the team forgot
to document it but he did sit out.
•  C - By the team manager before the game
informing the referee of the sit out and after the
game by having the referee sign the game card.
Who is allowed to eject a fan from
the sidelines?

•  A -Yes
•  B - No they have to let them play if the
opposing coaches and parent say its ok
When can an official allow a
substitution?
•  A –When they feel like it
•  B – Any dead ball situation
•  C – Only on goal kicks, kick off and throw – ins
Who is in the best position to
judge when a player should be
called offside?
•  A – Coach
•  B – Parent
•  C – Referee who has been trained on the offside
rule and is on the match doing their best.
Is a player who has been shown a
red card allowed to remain on the
bench during the game?
•  A - No. According to new USYSA rule. They
can go to fan side to relax however.
•  B – Yes if they sit and be quiet
•  C – Depends on their age
If you think the official is not
doing a good job what should you
do?
•  A – Phone a friend?
•  B – Yell at them that they are horrible, especially
if they are younger than you.
•  C – Sign up to take the referee class yourself
•  D – Tell your club president and ask them to
report the game number to the League with an
email about what happened
Can the referee prevent a player
from returning to play if they
think they suffered a blow to the
head?
•  A –Yes They are told to error on the side of
caution even if the coach says they are ok
•  B – No They have to allow them to play if the
coach sends them on
