The Dillsboro Library is excited to announce the Indiana State
Park Centennial Annual Pass Library Check-Out Program. 2016 is an
exciting year combining the Indiana Bicentennial and the Indiana
State Parks Centennial. The Indiana State Library and the Indiana
State Parks envisioned 2016 as a year to encourage and introduce
Indiana residents to our beautiful state parks. The Dillsboro Library
has purchased two passes which are available to be checked out for
up to 7 days. The passes are good for entrance to any of Indiana’s
beautiful state parks on a first come, first serve basis. Just bring
your library card and plan your tour of Indiana!
Dearborn County Emergency Management
Director, Jason Sullivan, has announced that allhazard weather radios are available at the
E.M.A. located at 401 W. High Street,
Lawrenceburg. Residents must show a proof of
county residency to receive the free weather
warning tools. The Indiana Department of
Homeland Security is partnering with all 92
counties in the state to distribute more than
4800 radios to Hoosiers.
All-hazard weather radios disseminate more
than 60 emergency alerts such as hazardous
weather and other local area warnings,
including up-to-date weather information
broadcast directly from the National Weather
Service. In the event of a power outage,
backup batteries power the radio.
The distribution focuses on citizens who are
particularly vulnerable to the damaging effects
of severe weather, which includes the
economically disadvantaged, mobile and
prefabricated home residents and others who
may not be able to receive weather alerts by
traditional means. Federal grants funded the
purchase of the radios.
Please call ahead to make sure that someone
will be in the office at the time of your pick-up

New Policy for
Businesses and NonProfits
$5
$20
Previously, there has been a “No
Advertising” policy for businesses.
Only “non-profits” were able to
announce events. Since we are
trying to work more closely with
the businesses in the community
through the Business Association
and Mainstreet events, a policy for
advertising has been approved by
the Town Council. As space is
permitting, we will allow for 1/12 of
a page all the way up to a full page
of advertising on a first come, first
serve basis. There will be a
reimbursement fee of $5 per 1/12
page to cover the additional costs
of paper and ink. All newsworthy
events will still be included at no
charge.
