Ravell at The Door

The interior of The Door: A Center for Alternatives. At The
Door, young people are empowered to reach their full
potential by being provided with comprehensive services in a
caring and healthy environment.
Ravell, a youth engagement staff member entering the door. Ravell
engages young people at the door, making them feel comfortable
and welcome. Ravell also handles conflict resolution and runs
various groups.

Throughout the day Ravell jumps from one place to the next.
whether he's hanging out with runaway and homeless youth or
running a men's group, Ravell is always making an effort to
engage young people at The Door.

Ravell walks to the train with a Door
member. At the end of each day,
Ravell walks Door members to the
train station and presents a train pass,
preventing any members from having
to pay a subway fare.

After presenting the train pass, Ravell gets ready
to open the door to let the Door members on to
the train.
Ravell chats and says goodbye to some staff
and members of The Door before walking to
the train platform.
Even after leaving The Door, Ravell
makes sure the Door members are
having fun, joking with them as they
wait for their train to arrive.

After all of The Door's members get off of
the train, Ravell has some time to himself.
Ravell takes his train to Port Authority,
where he boards a bus back to his home in
New Jersey.
Ravell finds his ride home on the bus to be a
time to reflect. After a long day, he appreciates
his time alone on the bus.
