What is Aromatherapy? This is available for: Aromatherapy is the use of pure essential oils to enhance physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. Inpatients on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Outpatients by appointment at Arohanui Hospice - bookings available on a Tuesday or Thursday or at the Levin venue on a Wednesday. Transport can be arranged if required. Day Stay patients Tuesday and Thursday afternoon at Day Stay, Arohanui Hospice, Palmerston North. Creative Living programme patients on Wednesday at our venue in Oxford Street, Levin. Community patients - home visits can be arranged by referral through your palliative care coordinator (PCC). What are essential oils? They are highly concentrated oils, extracted from plants and have specific therapeutic properties. They can be absorbed into the body through inhalation or through topical application such as massage. Benefits Aromatherapy is a gentle, comforting and supportive massage. It may also help: How do we use it? We have had aromatherapy massage offered at Arohanui Hospice since 2004. Generally gentle hand or foot massages are given.
