July has once again been designated as Family Golf Month, promoting golf as a fun family recreation
activity. Across the country, PGA/LPGA Professionals will be providing structured, yet casual, opportunities
for families to learn the game of golf and spend uninterrupted quality time together. Programs include
Take Your Daughter to the Course Week, PGA Family Course, junior playing rates and other junior/family
programs.
To support Family Golf Month, The PGA of America is launching a Twitter campaign. Beginning July 1, The
PGA is asking the entire golf industry, golf professionals and golfers across America to tweet about their
family golf experiences using the hashtag #familygolfmonth. Consumers are being directed to
twitter.FamilyGolfMonth.org to share their experiences and upload fun, family golf photos.
To help with this effort, we are asking you to:




Post one or more of the tweets suggested below to your organization, facility and/or personal
Twitter accounts.
Send an email to your email network using the sample message provided.
Post one or more of the suggested Facebook messages.
Reach out to your networks in the golf industry, including golf professionals, to encourage
them to send a tweet.

Getting more families out on the course is great for the game. The PGA of America has
designated July as Family Golf Month and PGA/LPGA Professionals around the country are
hosting special programs and events specifically for families.
In addition, industry partners are also promoting programs designed to get more kids and
families playing golf. During the week of July 9-15, The PGA is teaming up with the National
Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) to promote Take Your Daughter to the Course
Week.
Combine these with Kids Play Free, PGA Family Course and other family-friendly programs,
July is the perfect time to encourage families to spend a day on the course together and
we’d like your help in spreading the word. Simply create your own tweet or use one (or
