You have been invited to join the VSU Youth Baseball Organization for the 2012 Season. This
program is new and improved and will be sure to provide a positive experience to your child
next season. All practices take place at our Indoor/Outdoor Training facility in McAllen. Please
review the details below and let us know if you would like to secure your son’s spot on the team
as space is limited.






Program: VSU Teams are called the “Trojans” and we will have a team to fit beginners
as well as fundamentally sound players. All teams will play a 6 month season that will
end in a World Series Trip Guaranteed.
Communication: Each team will have a dedicated website with all updates and full
schedule. Tournament and World Series schedule along with practice schedules will be
posted by 01/01/2012. Find team sites at www.vsunation.teampages.com
Coaches: VSU Founder and former Pro ball player Eddie Wilson will head the program.
All other coaches will work under Eddie and follow the program and drill work that
comes from Eddie’s professional playing and teaching experience.
Roster: Each team will carry 12 players per. Players will be grouped together by skill
level. Age levels offered are 4U, 6U,8U, 10U, 12U, 14U. (4U Coed)
Practice: Team practice once per week with VSU Pros for 1hr minimum each. One
practice with VSU instructors present and the other with VSU Volunteer coach’s.
Teams also get 1 Defensive/Baserunning clinic per month. Teams will run a second
practice each week with team coaches. Days/Times dependent on coaches schedule.
Games: Teams will play a 6 month schedule from Feb-July. Tournament play begins in
February. League play starts in April. All VSU teams will play in the Edinburg Baseball
Softball League through USSSA.
