Abstract: (in English or French, Times New Roman, 11pt, italic, indentation left: 10 mm,
indentation right: 10 mm, justified, Single Line spacing). These instructions are
conceived in order to present how to draw up the articles for the Biblio 2011 Conference
organized by the Library of the Transilvania University of Braşov and the “George
Baritiu” Public Library - Brasov. The abstract should synthetically submit all pertinent
results of entire presentation, in a short but intelligible form. It should begin through
clearly enunciating the purpose of the paper and should end with one or two sentences
which enhance the most important conclusions of the paper. There will be used short,
direct and complete sentences, edited in a single paragraph with no “tab” stops. Abstract
length will be 7 to 10 lines.
Key words (Times New Roman, bold, 11pt): 3…5 significant key words.
1. Introduction (Times New Roman, bold, 12pt)
The paper will be written in English or French, using the Microsoft Word text processor.
The entire text of the article, including the elements of illustration such as tables or figures,
must have an even number of pages (4-6).
The paper can be written up by replacing the formatted text from this template with the real
paper content directly within this file.
The section text and subsections text format is Times New Roman, 12 pt., Justified
Alignment, First line Indentation at 5 mm and Single Line spacing.
The amount of space set for both Before and After paragraph is 12 pt each.
2. Instructions for editing (Times New Roman, bold, 12pt)
The A4 paper size (210 mm x 297 mm) is to be selected for page design which will be
customized by setting the margins tabs as it follows: top, bottom – 20 mm, left, right – 25
mm; the First Line indentation type for paragraphs will be set at 5 mm.
Preset for the paper will be one column that contains the full text, title, authors and their
affiliations, abstract and key words, inserted over the presentation.
3. Arranging the text within the page (Times New Roman, bold, 12pt.)
The title of the paper has the following format: Times New Roman 14 pt., capital letters,
bold, centered, Single Line spacing. Under title a blank line will be left (14 pt.).
Between the Author and the Abstract, there will be left two blank lines (2 x 12 pt.).
The author’s affiliation is placed right after the author’s name text. If there are more
authors with the same affiliation, this might be written once.
Between the Abstract and the Key words, there will be left a blank line (11 pt.).
Between the Key words line and the first line of text, there will be left two blank lines
(211 pt.).
The Titles of the sections are successively numbered with Arabic numbers, followed by
point and a blank space. The numbers of the subsections include the number of the main
section, point, the number of the subsection, point and a blank space.
The titles of the sections Acknowledgements and Bibliography will not be numbered.
As to the elements of illustration (figures - drawings, diagrams, images - or tables),
following specifications are required : they will be included, in order, within the text, and in
centered position relative to the left and right margins.
The illustration elements of small dimensions will be inserted within the paragraphs; those
of big dimensions may be introduced on the entire width, preferably at the beginning or in the
end of the page.
It will not be accepted papers that contain blurred figures. Therefore we kindly ask you to
provide high quality pictures.
Illustrations (figures, tables) will be placed as closely as possible to the place they have
been mentioned in text (It is recommended to avoid placing these elements before their first
mention into the text).
For figure, the text will be placed underneath it, centered, with Spacing Before set at 6 pt
and font characteristics : Times New Roman 12 pt, Single Line spacing. First part of the text
is the word "Figure" followed by the Space character, the respective figure number
(represented by Arabic numerals), point and Space again – with Regular Font style, Sentence
case. In continuing, the second part will be the explanatory text – with Italics, Sentence case.
The texts contained within the figures (in English) shall be of a size that should ensure a
good readability.
For table, the text must be placed above it, Right Alignment, with Spacing After set at 6 pt,
and, in rest, the same characteristics as for figures (Note that instead of the word "Figure" will be
used the word "Table").
The characteristics of fonts for the texts contained within the tables are : Times New
Roman 10 pt (9 pt - for bigger tables), Regular.
Within the text, a figure or a table will be reffered as "Figure x" or "Table x", where x
indicates the figure or table number in the text.

Tables within the document shall be created using the Table menu from MS Word. The
measuring units shall be written within square parentheses, in the header row of the table.
Any of the bibliographical references must be cited within the text by indicating the proper
number between square brackets [1].
Acknowledgements (if any) (Times New Roman, bold, 12pt)
This short section will be written just before the Bibliography and having the same format
as any text section contained by the document; this section title is not numbered. The
acknowledgements may be addressed to the persons or to the institutions that are not being
mentioned elsewhere in the text and which have played an important role in obtaining the
results submitted in the paper.
BIBLIOGRAPHY (Times New Roman, bold, 12pt)
The characteristics of the font used for Bibliography will be : Times New Roman 12 pt and
justified. The items in the Bibliography shall be numbered and in alphabetical order.
