 Foster and Partners win two BCIA awards

The Sage Gateshead and the Government Offices Great George Street (GOGGS) both won coveted British
Construction Industry Awards at a ceremony last night. The Sage Gateshead won the Local Authority Award. The
jury commented that it is Unmissable Yet another superb civic project from Gateshead. GOGGS won the
Conservation award. For this building the jury commented A magnificent project! GOGGS extends the Treasury
refurbishment story of success Excellent! Well planned, executed and delivered refurbishment.
The BCIA is the UKs premier building and civil engineering award programme attracting over 230 entries. The
awards recognise excellence in the overall desing, construction and delivery of buildings and civil engineering
works.
Notes
The BCIA Local Authority Award is given to a project funded by a local authority which is consistent with the
governments Better Public Building Programme.
The BCIA Conservation award for a project designed and executed with respect for fabric, design and form while
making a minimum intervention consistent with safety and structural integrity.
