Take a leisurely stroll out over the Pacific Ocean, watch the surfers ride a wave, fishermen catch a fish, or grab a bite to eat at the end of the pier. At the base of the pier, rent bikes by the hour at Wheel Fun Bike Rentals and cruise the strand. DOWNTOWN OCEANSIDE Top Gun House – A trip to Oceanside isn’t complete without checking out the Top Gun house located on Pacific Street at the pier. This bungalow is where the love scene between Kelly McGillis and Tom Cruise was shot. While you’re there, turn around at look down at the Pier Amphitheater. The final scene of Bring It On was filmed there. In addition, Oceanside High School is the fictional Neptune High from Veronica Mars. Other points of interest to walk to: Relax and unwind on the patio at Succulent Café surrounded by succulent art. Catch a movie at the Regal Oceanside Stadium 16 Check out the local art scene at the Oceanside Museum of Art and Artist’s Alley. Bethany Hamilton’s shark bite surfboard can be found at the California Surf Museum. MainStreet Oceanside's Sunset Market located in downtown Oceanside. This weekly gathering is so much more than a Farmers Market. Thousands of residents and visitors alike gather each week to enjoy the varied hot food offerings, the eclectic merchandise selections, the gourmet packaged food section and the live entertainment. SURF CONTEST – September 3rd- 7th – 7am Junior Pro event “Summer Youth Clash” for our youth age Under 20 on 9/3 & 9/4, Oceanside Firefighter Charity Surf Contest is on 9/5 and Surf for the Sea will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 6 & 7, 2014 at the North Jetty Oceanside Harbor. FIRST FRIDAY ARTS WALK – Friday, September 5th – 6pm-9pm Join us as we celebrate our thriving arts district in the heart of downtown Oceanside. The First Friday: Oceanside Arts Walk will showcase live performances, music poetry, art education, culinary and pop-up art galleries showcased in local businesses and public spaces.
