Dear Parents/Guardians
May I please draw your attention to the following events ;
Parental Information Evening – December 1st at 7pm-8.30pm
As a result of the recent parental questionnaires, staff are very keen to provide you
with an information evening where you will be given an opportunity to engage in
practical activities and receive details of your child’s curriculum and assessment
procedures.
Parents will be split into two groups.
Year 1-3 will be addressed by Mrs McAlister for Literacy 7pm -7.45pm and then
by Mr Park for Numeracy from 7:45pm-8.30pm.
Year 4-7 will be addressed by Mr Park for Numeracy 7pm – 7.45pm and then by
Mrs McAlister for Literacy from 7.45pm – 8.30pm
Other members of staff will be in attendance to answer questions about how you
may help your child at home.
Please note this is not an opportunity to have an individual interview about your
child. It is to listen to what the school is promoting as a whole school policy towards
teaching and learning.
I understand that you may have children spanning across the year groups but as you
can appreciate December is a very busy month for everyone and we have tried to
accommodate this meeting as best as we can.
I hope you will find the evening both informative and helpful.
Open Afternoon ~ Friday 9th December at 1.30pm – 3pm
Parents of current pupils and those who are entering the school for the first time are
invited to come to our Open Afternoon.
It will give our current parents an opportunity to view their child’s work and for
those new parents who are considering Poyntzpass P.S. an insight into our
‘outstanding’ school.
If you know any parent that has a child starting school in September 2017 please
make sure you invite them to this event.
Carol Service led by Year 5-7 ~ Sunday 11th December at 3pm -4pm
This Year the Carol Service will be held in the Presbyterian Church on the above
date. More details will follow closer to the time.
Year 1-4 ABC Nativity Performances ~ Wednesday 14th December
I am very pleased to announce that we will be performing the ABC Nativity on the
date above. We are beginning to work hard with rehearsals and you will be receiving
a note about what costume your child will need for their role.
As space is limited you will receive a note to indicate which performance you would
like to attend. Tickets will be limited to 2 per family, however, depending on the
response we may be able to offer additional tickets after the initial allocation. You
will be informed if other tickets become available.
As you can see December is a very busy month but it is also a very exciting month
for all our children. As they look forward to the visit from a special person on the
25th December!
