Centricity Healthcare Usergroup Webinar October 17, 2016 Debra McGrath, MSN, FNP Director HIT, Health Federation of Philadephia Health Federation of Philadelphia – Health Center Controlled Network • HFP is a public health nonprofit in SE PA that serves as a regional network of community health centers • The HCCN is a HRSA funded project to support 16 participating health centers on HIT optimization and use of data for quality improvement. • EHR User Groups are open to any health center in PA: • NextGen – 10/24 • EHS – TBD • eCW - TBD w w w. healthfederation.org Agenda • Meaningful Use Attestation • UDS • What’s new from CHUG w w w. healthfederation.org Meaningful Use - Overview • You will be using the 2014 certified version for attestation. GE will be releasing the 2015 certified version in mid 2017 • Many of the alternate exclusions available in 2015 are not applicable in 2016 • The exclusion for Public Health Reporting remains in place. Let us know if you have specific questions and we will do our best to help. w w w. healthfederation.org Meaningful Use – Reporting Period • The EHR reporting period for all providers is based on the calendar year. • In 2016, the EHR reporting period for all returning participants is a full calendar year (January 1 to December 31, 2016). • For first‐time participants in 2016, the EHR reporting period is a minimum of a continuous 90‐ day period between January 1 and December 31, 2016 • We are watching for the final decision on a proposed rule that will allow ALL providers regardless of stage of reporting to use a 90 day reporting period. The final decision is due by November 1. w w w. healthfederation.org Meaningful Use – Challenges for Centricity Users Objective 2: Implement five clinical decision support interventions related to four or more clinical quality measures at a relevant point in patient care for the entire EHR reporting period. In Centricity, this means implementing protocols. You will need to send screen shots of 5 protocols when you attest. w w w. healthfederation.org Meaningful Use – Challenges for Centricity Users Objective 5: Health Information Exchange at transitions in care (TOC) In Centricity you have two options: 1. Surescripts (formerly known as Kryptiq) and the Secure Messaging functionality’ 2. Qvera Transitions in Care (TOC) module w w w. healthfederation.org Meaningful Use – Challenges for Centricity Users Objective 6: Patient-specific education For Centricity users this requires implementing Truven patient education materials which are embedded in the product. Fortunately the threshold is low (10%) to meet the measure for this objective. The workflow requires the provider or team member to select a Truven patient education material from the Summary View of the chart. w w w. healthfederation.org Meaningful Use – Challenges for Centricity Users Objective 8: Patient Electronic Access; View, Download, Transmit (VDT) 1. This functional requirement is achieved through the patient portal and it must be configured to allow for specific functionality. 2. You must have 50% of each EP’s patients enrolled in the portal 3. You must ensure that you are publishing all information available at the time the information is sent to portal within 4 business days of a visit. However, the provider may withhold any information from online disclosure if he or she believes that providing such information may result in significant harm. 4. One patient for each provider must either view, download or transmit information from the patient portal. For Centricity users, there are many portal options including Intellichart, MedFusion, Enli (formerly Kryptiq). If you have the option of automatically registering a patient in your portal, this is the most effective and efficient way to reach the measures for this objective. w w w. healthfederation.org Meaningful Use – Challenges for Centricity Users Using Centricity Quality Reporting We have heard concerns from Centricity users that the data they are finding in CQR does not appear to be correct. We recommend you log a support ticket with GE as you may need to update mapping from your system to CQR. w w w. healthfederation.org Unified Data Set (UDS) Reporting – Challenges for Centricity Users Immunizations: problems with the immunization form may have an impact on quality measures. • Recommendations: – Be sure to log a support ticket if the Immunization History is not populating correctly – Be sure you have updated your immunizations to CPT codes rather than Observation Terms – Consider a robust, standardized process to manage immunization inventory so that you are getting the correct NDC codes loaded – Adopt Key Performance Indicators related to documenting immunizations w w w. healthfederation.org Unified Data Set (UDS) Reporting – Challenges for Centricity Users Reporting on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity There are two options for GE Users for collecting this information: • Virtual Office Ware CHC Module • Visualutions CHC Module • Recommendations: – Collect this information at registration otherwise you will not get the data you need – Update the forms you have patients complete to include this information – Use a kiosk or tablet enabled application to collect this information – Adopt Key Performance Indicators for this measure – Train staff how to ask and use this information in a sensitive way – Add SOGI information to the patient banner to inform clinical staff – Educate your staff: http://www.lgbthealtheducation.org/topic/sogi/ w w w. healthfederation.org SOGI Screen Shots VIS w w w. healthfederation.org SOGI Screen Shots VIS w w w. healthfederation.org SOGI Screen Shots VOW w w w. healthfederation.org What’s New at CHUG • 12.2 release is out starting this week • The 12.2 release includes some exciting improvements and over 850 SPR fixes • Highlights include: – New prescription refill form that improves workflow – New functionality to allow for ePrescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) – New Family History and Social History forms that improve data collection and workflow – Seamless integration for prior authorization for medications – Seamless integration with EPIC – New functionality to connect payer data with your EHR data w w w. healthfederation.org Questions???
