TRAIN TO TEACH IN THE SECONDARY SCHOOL SECTOR

Bursaries of up to £30,000 may be available depending on subject in which you train and your
qualifications. Student loans are available to cover tuition fees. Some salaried posts may be available.
We are looking for well qualified graduates who have a desire to work with young people within
secondary schools in Somerset. The MSC runs initial teacher training courses in a range of subjects
English, Maths, History, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Music, Modern Foreign Languages,
PE, Design Technology, Business Studies and Computer Science.
The course is designed so that trainee teachers spend the majority of their time in school, attending
centralised training at Crispin School on Tuesdays. On successful completion of the course trainees
gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Trainees
achieve excellent outcomes with over 90% securing jobs after their training year.
