Get your Sample

The Protocol specific to each study is
delivered with the sample. It provides
you the batch code and the due date.
These batch code are required
to submit your results on our
PTP Web Interface. Please
keep them safe.

At the beginning of each session each participant planed will receive the
lab Analyst details.

The e-mail provides your unique
Lab Analyst’s login and password.
These details are required to
submit your results via our
Web Interface.

There are 5 important steps that will ensure your results are submitted
correctly.

are the main laboratory contact, you can get your Analyst login
details sent by email via the ‘Analyst’ section.

Why do we use a nominated result for Gel-clot, not a range?
•
The requirement for only a nominated result in Gel-Clot method to be included in the
statistical analysis of results has been made in accordance with the international
standard ISO 13528, and to allow a comparison with the other methods (quantitative).
•
Nominated results have been introduced to prevent potential bias in results.
•
If all results contributed to the overall statistics there is a small risk that the data may
be skewed and the assigned value affected.
•
Each PTP session provide the opportunity to enter unlimited results per technician or
laboratory.

Which result should be nominated for Gel-Clot?
This choice is completely up to you. Our recommendation is that you nominate the result that best
reflects the result you would supply for any normal routine sample by doing the geometric mean.
It is calculated by multiplying last positive dilution by lysate sensitivity. (for example: 16 * 0.125 =
2)

Can you average your results and then submit the average of several dilutions?
Our recommendation is that laboratories should treat the samples in the same way as they would
any routine sample. Routine samples are not normally analysed multiple times and an average
result calculated. For this reason we do not recommend to calculate an average of your results.
The choice of which results to submit and of which one should be nominated in Gel-Clot method is
the decision of the participant.

Approval of your results
•
Approval of your results is the final step of results submission.
•
It confirms that the results you have entered are final and you are happy for
these results to be included in the report.
•
If you have not approved your results they will not be entered into the report
and you will not receive a z-score.
•
You can approve results at any time before the deadline.
•
If you delete a result, you must submit the result again.

details, please send a request via the ‘Contact us’ section.
