Summary
Release 11.2.1 is
 a minor update to address specific issues that customers have
raised in order to make the current capabilities more
accessible to more applications.
 fully compatible with releases 11.2a & 11.2, does not require a
database schema change and should not cause any
incompatibility with existing 11.2 applications.
 can be adopted with very low difficulty
 include significant application debugging capabilities
 should make server maintenance, administration, and
application development much easier and less costly, which is
probably the main reasons that a client would want to migrate
to 11.2.1

Server Robustness
 Setup Improvement
 Elimination of many verbose parameters from the Deployment tool.
 On-screen hint in Deployment toool to guide administrator
 Manual work after deployment is mostly eliminated
 Analytics integration significantly simplified
 Error reporting improved to help you resolve underlying problem
 Log Improvement
 Log information is segregated into four different log purposes: System
Error Logs, Trace Logs, Audit Logs, Support Logs
 Health Check when starting server
 Required configuration parameters are checked when starting, and any
problem is clearly reported so it can be addressed

Console UI and Performance
 Console Performance:
 The “My Tasks” page and the “My Processes” page will load about 50%
faster now, depending upon the number of items by eliminating the need
to load all items at once.
 Page logic now only loads the first page worth, and loads subsequent
rows only when exposed.
 Usability Improvements
 Attachment dialog updated to be more understandable
 Reuse Process Instance
 User can start new process instance using by closed process instance.
The process instance name, description, and UDA values are
incorporated from the closed process instance into the new one.

Operability for Studio, including Debugging
 Keyboard Shortcuts
 Necessary modifications have been completed in order to assure section
508 compliance. In Studio, User can execute the following operations by
key board short cut:
 Navigate direction, Open/Hide palette, Drop node from palette, Select
“Arrow”, “Diagonal Arrow”, “Select” on tool button, Draw
arrow(connecting, reconnecting, changing its shape), Validate Process
Definition
 Process Debugging
 Studio can connect to live BPM server process instance
 Stopping, starting and resuming a process instance
 Update UDA data while the process is running
 Debug operation of Console work items and process instance lists

Extensions of the ModelAPI Capability
 Abort Suspended Process Instance
 By this new API method, the client program can now abort a process
instance if it is in suspended state. The behavior will be the same as
calling abort from a running process instance. You no longer have to put
the process into running state in order to abort it.
 Node Instance Activation
 Directly activate (or re-activate) a node in any state, whether Initial,
Completed, Error, Aborted. Previously some transitions were
disallowed.

Market Driven Enhancements
 Single Sign On by Windows Authentication
 User can login Console automatically, by using NTLM (Integrated
Windows Authentication) in Active Directory network.
 BPMN 2.0 Support
 Interstage BPM has supported BPMN 2.0 graphical notation since
version 11.0 so there is no change in the visual format of processes.
 User can now import/export BPMN 2.0 serialization format file from/to
Studio.
 Support node sequential looping on compound node.
 Process definitions can use the node sequential looping function with
compound nodes. This allows a process to easily repeat an embedded
subprocess a defined number of times.
