Very entertaining game. Players of the match were Harlem Tamalii and Phienix Groth as they showed great sportsmanship and amazing tackling. Thanks to the Tamalii family for brining Oranges and to coach Monty for his patience while training our little bears. Another great game this weekend, everyone gave 100% and our defense has improved heaps. Player of the match went to Jac Jac, who made many try saving tackles!! Tries this week to Farentino, Riley, Jac Jac,. Jake and myself would like to say that we are extremely proud of our team for there great sportsmanship this week, especially Farentino and Jac Jac for there encouraging complements towards another player. What a weekend, the boys on Saturday were up against Brothers Maroon at Briggs Rd, they once again played well as a team & came away with the win, Mahonri was again outstanding with 4 tries & a number of important tackles, other tries were scored by Tungane who scored 2, Mark Anthony scored a try & was unlucky not to get another, Tyler & Jesse each scored a try as well, Calum had some good runs & is always hard to tackle, Trystan tackled well & almost came up with a try down the sideline with some blistering speed. & just got taken into touch, Tyreece also played well, his effort is always outstanding & he always seems to beat the first defender in attack, he also made a try saving tackle, the Brothers Maroon player was destined to score until Tyreece came across & stopped him, Players of the match were Tungane & Tyreece, well done boys, Also thanks again to the Woolworths at Collingwood Park for allowing us to have our final fundraising event for the year, it has certainly been a successful year of fundraising & I'm sure the boys will be very happy once they enjoy the benefits from this, thanks to Foodworks & Redbank Plains Tavern also for their support & also thanks to all the parents who either helped out at BBQ's or bought sausages ETC. Not forgetting those who sold Chocolates, your efforts are much appreciated, well done, Also just wanted to say a big thanks to Chris & Cheryl, you guys always go above & beyond with fundraising so a special thanks to you guys for your time & effort, we couldn't have done it without you. Our boy's commitment and their weekly attendance to training did not fall short or gone unnoticed as we took on Brothers White for the second time this season. Our valiant Bears were determined and with that they knocked it out of the park with the win over the mighty Brothers. There were some minor incidents and setbacks from Brothers but this did not deter our boys from playing a fair and good game of the game they love. We are very proud of the awesome display of sportsmanship each and every one of them uphold and show every week. Joseph S, Kalani, Lesayne & Vili all went over the try line with the support of the team. Joseph Y aka Flash showed awesome team spirit. Carter, Montoya & Ogden broke away several times with Josiah in tow while Matiu was a 'tackling machine'. Heinrich showed leadership as the captain and led his team well. While everyone deserves an award we only had two to present, therefore this week our Coaches' encouragement & Player of the match awards went to Vili & Joseph Y for best team play and support. Well done boys, well done team!! Thank you Young family for supplying the team oranges and being on jersey duty this week. Reminder: Don't forget our Carnival this Sunday 3rd August (refer email sent) . With only 3 games left now, our boys are really beginning to pick up the pace and work together as a team. We fell short by 4 points against Goodna Blue on the weekend but the fight our boys put up was amazing. We saw some amazing tries set up by Malakai and Riley. All of our spectators were on the edge of our seats as our boys worked together to put on an incredible show for us. We have been focusing on tackling around the legs and also giving each other support throughout the game. Our boys have really taken on what Coach Terry has been saying and put it in to action. All of our blue boys should be extremely proud of themselves. We are very proud of you all. Well done to Riley for recieving man of the match!! Awesome work blue bears!!! What a weekend footy fans. Our boys took to the paddock at Karalee vs Brothers Grey . The game started off slow for the first half, with Brothers scoring against us, but our come back in the second half was amazing defeating brothers 48-10 It was great seeing offloads that led to some nice tries Tries by Byron (hooner) Loveday , Marcus, Seth Briggs, Riley ( T. rex) Tosi , Jakoda the J Train Soe well done boys Conversions by Kye Stafford ,Byron Loveday , Marcus O’Riley and Riley Tosi. Well done fellas Our coaches player of the day award went to Riley Tosi keep up the good work in defence Our parents pic award went to Marcus O’Riley keep up the good work in defense also Our training behavior award went to Jarrod and Azariah great work boys What an exciting game of football our U10's white played on Saturday against Swifts with Kevin Tuhoro, Tony Stowers & Matthew Conforti showing off their strong defence skills. In the second half they scored a try , purely by the determination of Jai Tiely & a outstanding kick for goal by Bailey Turner. On Sunday was our teams Carnival, unfortunately we were down a couple of players. The U10's white still showed a great display courage & battled on like true bears players do. Brock Thompson , Bailey Turner, Kevin Tuhoro & Jacob Nuttall made some fearlee tackles throughout the day & there where great ball handling skills by Maverick Single, Jai Tiely, Latoya Maunder, Kiama Kate, Shonikqua Martin & Tysen Farrell- Chapman which lead to Maverick Single scoring a awesome try in the last game. Well done Team. I would also like to thank the parents for traveling out Lowood, Nathan Bucholtz for making this day possibly & a big thank you to Nathan Booth for help us throughout the day. Another well-deserved win on Friday night to the U13’s Bears White Team against Laidley. It was a tough fast moving game and a great team effort. The Forwards laid down the law in the defence department with the backs joining in on the fun showing Laidley that we meant business. Our attack was well organised both in the forwards and the backs combining together for a convincing 30 – 8 victory. Mapa Fafita scored two tries while Jayden Thorburn, Dyllan Hillier, Micheal Schulze and Cyrus Arona all scored a try each. Michael Mallinson kicked his first two conversions for us while Francis Ka added another one to his total. Our first aid officer Epi Ka ( Francis’s Mum) is not well at the moment so can everyone wish her well in your thoughts so we can have her back on the team as soon as possible. The team missed Epi Friday night but the team played well for her. Thanks to our supporters and cheer squad that turns up to our games to help the boys along, it is well appreciated. I hope to see you all at our West End game this Friday night. WOW only three games left to the end of the season so we need all the support possible at each game. What a year. Cheers Tony On Friday 25th the under 15 team played Laidley at home. The Laidley team tried hard and deserves praise for this, but unfortunately, was beaten convincingly 98-2. Point scorers for Redbank were Bradie, Wyatt, Codey, Saga, Abe, Julian, Pa, Billy, Clem, Caillum, Wilson and Robert with Codey, Billy, Clem, Saga and Abe scoring conversions. The team has steadily climbed up the ladder and hopes to get to the finals in a few weeks’ time.
