Manage your time with the TTO Technique T T O Task Importance Time Dependant Opportunity Cost Have you ever found that there is not enough time in the day? Always more to do than time to do it in? Me too. I would suggest this would apply to most people in my opinion. You often hear "but I just haven't got the time" or "I'm too busy" or similar words relating to things that are on the "to do" list but are not getting done. We all only have 24 hours in a day, so it might be wise to assume that success must relate to what you do with your time and not the amount of it. On that basis I knew I had to look into ways to combat the things that were eroding my time and also prioritise to achieve highly rewarding tasks and thus pay days. I started to develop the TTO technique, which in itself wasn't unique but it had a simplicity about it and can be done anywhere. Within your mind, on paper, or on smart devices. Other people's version's that I had come across were not simple enough and thus not " brain portable" and for busy people that's getting on for useless. Prioritising time and analysing the most important things to do and in what order, instantly on a points scoring basis, was my way of transforming my day from a series of reactive task's to pro-active measures. It gets the important things done. T – Task Importance How important is the task to your overall objective? Will not achieving this affect your future success? 1 – Not important at all 2 – Fairly important 3 – Important 4 – Very important but not vital 5 – Vital T – Time Dependent How vital is it to perform this task quickly, within a time scale? Could not doing this within the time frame mean failure of your objective. 1 – Future task 2 – Can be done at any time 3 – Necessary 4 – Urgent 5 – Must be done immediately O – Opportunity Cost If you miss this opportunity will this mean you will never get the chance again? 1 – The opportunity will be there everyday 2 – Likely to be there permanently 3 – Opportunity may be lost 4 – Good chance this opportunity will be lost 5 – The opportunity will never come again Your FREE TTO Spreadsheet Now you know how to score it, you can use your TTO spreadsheet to make the most of your time.
